Trump owns the healthcare market now....

When everyone, even his closest [former] advisers, say his EO will send the markets into chaos and premiums and copayments will skyrocket then, yes, he owns the consequences of that.

It's not like anyone is anti-Trump or anything.  You suspect them to say something good?  that includes the GOP.  I said let him own it on Friday, then he can own the successes as well.

That's because private health insurance is a failed market. That is going to become far more obvious once people no longer receive their CSR subsidies.

If you think the private market is a failed market...wait for it, wait for it, single payer.  Unless you just aren't as concerned for the sickly, elderly, waiting lines/list, experimental life saving treatments and drugs.

Insurance is unaffordable and is only getting worse, hospitals are struggling to stay in operation because people are unable to pay, people don't go to the doctor or dentist for treatment because they don't want to go into debt, the drug companies are bribing politicians so no one will go after the source of the opioid crisis, etc., but ignore the nightmares you're living through and consider that you'll have to wait in lines because people can get healthcare.

The majority of people losing healthcare under Trump's XO are the people FORCED to buy Obamacare against their wishes, under threat of a fine.  For you to suggest that Trump's XO is a desire for a photo op is ludicrous, but then again, almost everything you post is ludicrous. You are so consumed with hate  for Trump, that you are totally blinded to the reality that he is a good man, with a sincere desire to do what is best for the American people......all of them.  Obama and Hillary , the people you admire, were actually criminals, she lied before Congress and ran an illegal international pay for play scam, among other things, and Obama was determined to do things directly opposed to the benefit of the nation, but faithful to his radical , far left ideology, no matter the cost to the nation , like Obamacare, and the Iran deal.    THESE are the people you admire and support. That says it all about you.  Just WRONG !

Can I just say, the irony of democrats losing their minds over a $10 billion subsidy to private business is quite fascinating.

It's an interesting example of trickle down economics actually working, if the CBO is correct.  Subsidize the insurance industry and you'll get more than a 200% return on your investment.

As I understand it, it’s a subsidy for taxpayers that is paid to the insurance companies. It’s done that way for efficiency.  It’s the same as a tax credit but people get it instantly (through the insurance company).  And it’s not at all the same as the tax subsidies that so many corporations get.

I suggest you read this report by the CBO.

https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/115th-congress-2017-2018/reports/53009-costsharingreductions.pdf

The conclusion is that cutting CSRs will increase the amount of people qualifying for federal aid and those people will in turn cost the federal government roughly double what it would be saving on CSRs.

It isn't exactly a new concept. Stuff like gasoline and a lot of our food is subsidized to drive prices down at the consumer level.

That said, I can simultaneously think that removing subsidies which will make health insurance unaffordable for millions of people (among other things the EO is trying to do) is a terrible thing to do and that we should stop subsidizing private health insurance by getting rid of that market altogether and replace it with a singlepayer program.
