I'm going to be honest here. With the schedule we have coming up and the garbage Football played over the first 6 weeks of the season, I don't think the Falcons are making it this year.

Another second half collapse + loss at home + losing after a BYE week = Bad news

Yea, I think that's a safe assumption.  We can't predict the future but I think I've seen enough to know what this team ISN'T and they are not a contender.  Even in a weak NFC.

Can’t say that. Ppl forget we were 6-4 atvthe bye and went on a tare the last 6 games only losing 1 in that stretch. This team is most definitely still a contender. Ppl were saying the same thing last season after we lost to Philly. But this is also why I was telling y’all this game was a must win. Instead of taking a lead in the division we’re atill in second place. Carolina’s loss was why we needed to win to take 1st place back.

Outside of the Chiefs, our last 6 games last year were a cake walk.

Our next 6 teams this year are: Patriots, Jets, Panthers, Cowboys, Seahawks, Bucs

Outside of the Bucs, this next stretch of the season is going to be absolutely brutal and the Falcons are not a good football team offensively, defensively, ST, or coaching wise right now. With what we've seen thus far from the Falcons, its fair to believe we could miss the playoffs.

the division is totally up for grabs - Saints started out 0-2 and have won 3 straight.   No one is knocked out but all three of those teams have already played New England and they are still on our schedule.

So what? None of that matters. A lot of y’all were saying we’d be 1-5 starting  the season last year because of the “Big Bad scary schedule”. There’s nothing wrong with the falcons offensively other than they’ve been too d@mn conservative with a new signal caller. The 2 losses we have are from self inflicted wounds. Grady don’t rough Cutler the Int stands and miami doesn’t score. And that’s the other issue. The defense was getting the ball back for the offense last year. Not so much this year so far. That’s what I see thus far.

This team is a contender because the conference looks pretty weak.  I know people are saying "Last year..." but this team looks NOTHING like they did last year.  If they looked half as good as they did in losses to KC, SD, Seattle (robbed), etc. I would agree.

That's not this year's team.  I said last year even after SD and KC that we could play with anyone.  The team this year looks putrid and I stand by my statement. Sadly, the board always says "season over" after a loss so it's not like you can get credit for being right.

This year is different than last year though.

Thats why I was saying all these games are must wins. Our fans gotta stop underestimating these teams. We have a target in our backs. We’re getting everybody’s best shot each week. That’s why we have to pace the division instead if trail.

Every season is different. There’s a FULL YEAR of film on us so of course we won’t look exactly the same. The diviywas weak last year too wasn’t it? It ain’t as weak as you’re making it. Carolina is above 500 at 4-2 and so is NO after today. The division ain’t too d@mn weak.

Huh?  I said the conference is weak because generally it is but the division is tougher than last year...which would mean we're MORE likely to not make the playoffs.  Not sure what point you were trying to make but ok.

Yea, every year is different which is a big part of why I think we won't be in the postseason.

Here is something NOBODY wants to admit.

Matt is going back to being just above average - last year was not the "new normal".    When your QB is average, your team is usually average.

6 TDs, 6 INTs in 5 games. Very pedestrian production. Unless you have an otherwordly running game and/or elite defense, that kind of production just isn't going to win you games.

nope - and 5 games is not a small sample size either.

I think it’s a little deeper than that. Part of it is Sark is too d@mn conservative compared to Kyle’s uber aggressive style. I remember ppl complained when i used to say the WCO is about your #1 wr, back, and TE. Well the latter 2 are involved but where’s Julio? Kyle would move Julio around and find mismatches. Not seeing that.

I think kyles QB coach made a world of difference for Matt as well. There’s other issues that I’m seeing that aren’t the same as well but those are some of the main ones so far. I’d like to see us get aggressive again. I’d like to see sark let his nuts hang like Kyle.

I remember when ppl were saying how much of a control freak Kyle was and I’d tell them you HAVE to be to run your system right. Well...Now you see what I meant. Matt has more control and the offense is softer. I’m watching Pitt/KC as we type and they’re playing UBER aggressive like I’m used to seeing from Pitt. We don’t have that Kyle Edge this year. I was hoping we would since the system is the same but his feel for the game and aggressive nature is sorely missed.

But hey, be careful what you say about Matt Ryan around here. Pretty sure its against the code of conduct to be critical of him

I am an equal opportunity complimenter and criticizer - some on here think you can only praise and never criticize.

Truth is you are never as good as you are when everything is going great and never as bad as you are when everything is falling apart.   Last year everything went our way and everyone wanted to claim it and say Matt was now on level w/ Brady, Rodgers and Brees - I never bought into that line of thinking.   Matt has been good for along time but only last year did he venture into great - and right now he is not showing he can stay there.   Hope I am wrong but it seems like everthing has to be almost perfect around him for Matt to flourish.

Seattle is beatable at home...the Texans gave that game a way

Every team is beatable at home and that was all Russel Wilson. No other QB is dropping 40 on that defense with that OL.
