#2 Our new RG Wes Schwitzer who you guys claim is so great sucks. Just because he plays for our team doesn't automatically make him good. I'm hoping Paztor can get up to speed and play guard. Schwitzer nor Garland is the answer.  And it showed today. "He was nervous" that's what I'm going to hear. 

#3 our new fullback is terrible. He looks completely lost out there. 

#4 Our defense looked fast but got out of position a bit today. 

#5 some players such as Tru, Freeman, all showed a bit of rust. 

 

We better get far better this week in practice and ready to go. Rodger's and the pack aren't coming in to play games. We can win, but we have to have a major turn around

Coleman for sure had a lot of trouble cutting on that field. I think Freeman was just a little rusty. He made some good cuts. He also had little to no room to work with thanks to the offensive line

While this is true it's also true that when schedules go out players look at or circle certain games. Not because you're going to give any more/less effort but because you can use that game as a measuring stick for where you and your team are at.

I agree with all you said, the FB whoever he is was horrible, should have kept DeMarco! Matt was off, is it he needed more reps in pre-season? Should Sark head upstairs since it worked wonders with Shanny? I didn't care much for the play calling. Brooks finally has come around, though Poe & Tac where quiet. Penalties hurt....& as usual, the NOT SO "Special Teams" is killing us with field positioning, K Armstrong is due to go sooner than later!

I just remember that last season after we lost to the Bucs at home in week 1, I was just as POed as a lot of yal are right now.

 

It made me lower my expectations and just enjoy the season. It was the best thing could have happened because no matter what happened I was able to watch each game without the stress of the standings or stats or whatever.

This year it's the same thing. Everyone else can talk about the super bowl all they want, none of that is garunteed.

We have a really good team that competes every game. And despite how we look we all now that we can beat ANYONE if we play our game. What more can you want?

Its going to be a long season for some of yal if you expect us to play 16 games and look the same way we looked against GB in the NFCCG. 

Many of yal forget that we were an 11-5 team with a couple of ugly losses last year. 

This is a talented squad no doubt, but we aren't the second coming. We wipe our azz the same as 31 other teams. We have to start over from the beginning, and establish new ways to continue winning. This season is a marathon, there will be ups and downs. We will look great at times and not so great other times, but there's no doubt we're going to be right there in the end. 

So everyone relax and enjoy the show. It's a long season folks.

He is a great announcer, and yes he is right. NFL games are played at a very high level every Sunday, but it is the extra motivation that makes a difference in the outcome.

How could you call one of the best announcers for the NFL a "fool"?

It's as if some have never heard of the concept of a champ having a target on their back.

It does matter, when this game is as close as a lesser team might get to winning a Superbowl. It's the same reasoning why division games are always tougher too. They want those bragging rights.

Anybody who saw the fact that we tended to play down to our opponents in the Mike Smith years can understand that teams, either by the tone set by the staff during the week, or by the effort ofthe individual players, can take teams for granted.

The opposite is true, which is why "every team will give your their best" makes sense. Pride makes a subtle but cumulative effect in the practice week and gameplan, and it shows on Sundays like this game. Teams you think have no business being in a game are going to be competitive, they will bring their best to play the best.

Division rivals in spoiler-mode are going to wreck havoc in the end of the season, just as it was designed recently.

It's a real thing tho. It's not a dumb comment. There are certain games teams get up more for. Division rival games and SB contenders. The Falcons have a bullseye on their back now. It's a measuring stick for teams and gives them confidence if they beat or even compete and come close to beating a SB team. Everybody gave carolina their best shot after the SB. Same with Denver. If you've EVER played organized sports like Charles Davis and any other athlete that was dedicated to playing then you'd KNOW that what Davis said is a very real thing. We were the NFC representatives last year. We ARE the measuring stick and this game HAD to give the bears confidence moving forward. An 0-5 team is gonna come at us like it's the SB with everything they've got.

Its something many don't actually know about. Its a different emotion, you prep different, everything. I guarantee we are prepping for GB different than we would the Browns. Its like the talk we had a couple of years ago. How many see the game the way it looks on the screen.

Charles Davis was the first network guy I've ever heard who knew our team front to back.  I'll forgive an occaisional cliche in a job where you're required to talk for 3 hours straight.
