So far, people are complaining about the 3rd string TE, the 4th RB, the 9th DE, the 9th Olineman making or not making the team.

Think everyone should take a deep breath and remember what the team was like 3 years ago:

Starters:

Sjax RB, Stone C, Bierman DE, Goodman DE,  Solia DT, Bartu LB, Worrilow LB

Roster:

Arenas, Sam Baker, Carimi, Drew Davis, Gunn, Hawley, Holmes,  TJax,   Massiquoi, Konz, Magonga,   Martino, Moore, Bear Pascoe, Peters, Shembo,Antone Smith,  Umenyiora, ,Josh Wilson Yates

Roberts is a journeyman receiver..he's pretty expendable in my opinion for some young talent.

after weems absolute dumpster fire on PR/KR last year i will take a proven return man in roberts who showed big play ability in preseason outside of 1 muffed catch which was likely due to the giant Sphincter halo board.

Was Weems really that bad? I mean I know he made some questionable fair catches but thats really with every return man in the league as it's really tricky to gauge if you should return it or not with players running full speed right at you. I'm just glad he had sure hands and never fumbled the ball. He's not the fastest but he did have some decent returns. The return game is dam near dead imo and punts your really lucky to get 1 or 2 TD's from those in a season. I can't really say Roberts is that much of a returner to garner a spot on the roster over someone like Gabe or someone with more speed. Just my opinion tho.

how many 99-95 yard drives did our offense have to make because he let the ball go at the 15 only to be downed inside the 5 or fair catch it on the 5. he was REALLY inconsistent last year.

It was like 3 and with this offense you can afford to do that. But that literally happens all over the league bro and I promise it will happen again.

You mean 3 in one game, right????

Weems sucked so bad last season that ironically we set team total yardage records because of all the long drives due to his horrible punt returning.

fair enough, and i agree roberts is a journey man but i think he will be a really solid returner for us. ST is clearly important to this team. we'll see i guess.

Weems was also an excellent gunner.

Are you talking about the Panthers game? If so that was early in the season and we can spare a guy one bad game right? He cleaned it up for most of the season until I think one other game I can't specifically remember.

Weems was a good player for us on special teams for years but he was nearing the end and may well have reached it.

But we had to move on from him at PR.

That may be so, but I will miss being comfortable that special teams turnovers will be nothing to worry about. Roberts has to build up my trust.
