Falconsfan567
Love the uniforms. Braves really need to go back to this color blue. Not a fan of the extremely dark navy blue.
jidady
Sal Romano had an ERA of 6.98 heading into this game, and he's held us to one run. That's frustrating.
usmcdirtybird
Dickey was pitching great then he started pitching homerun derby practice.
Falconsfan567
What the crap happened? Stepped away for like half a second and bam it's 4-1.

Don't feel bad, a couple starts ago he kept Stanton from hitting a HR too. Lol
Unknøwn
My how things quickly change. This team looked like a .500 team for half the season but now they look destined for a top 5 pick.

We need more to add Stanton in the offseason.

Falconsfan567
Chip just said something that caught my attention. He mentioned that against the Rockies Julio threw 37 sliders after throwing just 10 the start before. The reason that jumps out to me is that a couple nights ago on MLB Network they did a breakdown on Patrick Corbin. Corbin has been excellent his last 2 starts after being awful this season and they mentioned that he has dramatically increased his slider usage and has all but stopped throwing his change up. He is now throwing his slider over 50% of the time after throwing it only 34% of the time previously. His change up was getting smacked at a SLG of over 700. His changeup usage has dropped from 11% to 1%. Just wondering if maybe Julio's improved performance against the Rockies was being of an increase in usage of his slider? He got off to a great start tonight striking out the side in the opening inning.
Falconsfan567
Julio was just hit in the hand while trying to hunt. Ball hit the bat and then hit his hand. Play is under review so who knows what the call will be. Call was foul ball and Braves challenged and call stands.
Unknøwn
Mark Bowman just did a story on how Julio's improved slider is leading to better results.
Falconsfan567
I realy hope this embarrassing 2nd half is enough to make John Hart wake up and smell the coffee and see that Brian Snitker is not the man we need running things long term. Falconsfan567
It doesn't matter what moves the Braves make in the off-season if they don't fix the bullpen. I'd love to see them spend the money to sign at least 2 proven arms.

I would take anything just to get rid of him.
Falconsfan567
If only Jim Johnson hadn't given up 4 runs and Jason Motte 2 the Braves would be celebrating a win tonight. Too many times this year.
Born Again Georgian
I'm definitely still spoiled by O'Flaherty/Venters/Kimbrel... hard to believe our bullpen went from that to this ****.

Unknøwn
Johnson now has an ERA of 8.78 in his last 16 games. I'm pretty sure a big focus for us will be on adding some RPs through FA or trades. The cheap vets we've tried to fill gaps have been a disaster.

But 2 months ago I was called an idiot for wanting the Braves to get rid of Jim Johnson because he was having a career year.
