We will see substantial CO2 emissions reductions in the coming few years

Recommended Posts

It's pretty clear that the US and China are the number 1 and 2 CO2 polluters globally. With that said, Saudi Arabia is the 9th largest CO2 emitter in the world. This, while only being the 20th largest economy. Its low fuel prices to industry and other consumers have resulted in inefficient power generation and fuel consumption.

The country is looking to raise fuel prices in the coming years. So we will see the 9th-largest carbon emitter fall back, helping the world's emission levels.

CO2 emissions in power generation can be greatly reduced by increasing fuel prices. Especially if higher electricity prices cause a sharp decline in demand.

Moreover, its highly energy- and carbon-intensive industries, like cement manufacturing and petrochemicals, have opportunity to mitigate emissions in light of increasing fuel prices.

On a similar note, Malthus was terribly wrong about his population projections. What I'm saying, however, is a fact. In addition to China's investments in cleaner energy (which is a fact), Saudi Arabia's energy price reforms will yield lower carbon emissions. Those factors will undoubtedly have positive effects on global emissions by 2020.

Yes. We should worry about trace CO2 concentrations in the grand scheme of things.

We also fight wars over trace quantities of materials that store large amounts of energy. There are moons and  planets with oceans of methane, yet our scarce availability of natural gas and oil has caused wars.

Womflacs let me remind you that first of all Playstation still stinks.....

Secondly we are on the verge of world war 3 with Trump as our President. That will mess up the whole carbon thing in itself.

Third you might want to get ALL the corn you can get your hands on..... #cornapocalypseiscoming  #tradewarswithmexicothankstotrumpcornisdoomed

Honorable mention ....learn the speak Russian you might survive this a little longer.

Haha. Still remember the good ol' days (like 7-8 years ago)? You only have 62 posts. What was your username before?

Those days were absolute fun. I don't play video games anymore... I haven't touched a game in two years, and even then, it was a game every two years.

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”

The world ended in 1997 and we're all in Purgatory.

"The world just passed another round-numbered climate milestone. Scientists predicted it would happen this year and lo and behold, it has."

Let's further ignore those with the necessary information...

We're closer to suffocating all plant-life than we are to drowning them in sea water.
