And I rest my case.

Hypocrite.

Allegations by women against a democrat?  Proof beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law that the democrat is guilty.

Allegations by women against a democrat?  Not proof, wouldn't even be allowed in evidence in a civil trial.  You need actual video footage and DNA.

The mere fact that it came down to a choice between Hillary and Trump is Exhibit A in our failure as an electorate. Hyperpartisanship has taken us to the point where we accept the awful from ourselves as long as it means sticking it to the other side.

When the postmortem is done on the Republic in the next hundred years or so, I have no doubt that hyperpartisanship will be listed as the cause of death.

How melodramatic.

So just to be clear, you still think disenfranchising people on welfare can be temporary, even though there's no way to eliminate the "incentive" of poverty, and you think this works even though you literally cannot articulate how it could be anything but permanent? Kewl.

I know I'm a pretty smart guy but, there are people in politics who are above my pay grade that haven't figured it out yet, but you expect me too?  You're a tool Serge, and I don't mean that in the worst possible way.

I've often thought of running for office but then I ask myself why with the life I have would I want to do that to myself?  I'm better off giving my time and money to the less fortunate like I already do.  That is way more productive than what I could do in office.

Our politics have seen some pretty bad times over the last 241 years.  This is not new.  Predicting this country will only be around another 100 years or so  is laughable to me.  If you're right (which I doubt) Y'all or your descendants can dig my ashes up and do a happy dance on them....Trust me, my ashes will be safe.

This is a disingenuous response. He's challenging your argument and your response is "no one else has figured it out either" and to call him a tool.

Maybe your idea is just a very bad and poorly developed one.

I expect you to because you argued that we should take away the right to vote from people on welfare because they have an incentive to vote for candidates who will represent their interests in a way you disagree with, and you rationalized that this wouldn't actually disenfranchise people on welfare because it would be temporary, which implies the incentive itself could be eliminated somehow, even though it obviously can't and there's no reason to think it could be. No one forced you to make this stupid, stupid argument and choosing not to own it now is as bad a look as making that argument in the first place.

This election proved to be that s 3rd party can't ever win the presidency now.

You didn't need this election to prove that.

The terribleness of both major party candidates should have created a large scale vote in the third parties direction but it didn't. Everyone stuck to their party division.

The third party candidates were also terrible.

It's sad but a lot of these conservative figures and commentators are huge hypocrites. It's part of the reason I jokingly put "family values" as one of the tags. The people who extol these "conservatives values" are often the biggest philanderers, drunks, and abusers around. O'Reilly, Roger Ailes, and Rush Limbaugh for example have all shown themselves to be terrible human beings, politics aside.

It's a big part of the reason why I stopped paying attention to conservative media. I think a lot of normal people who believe in that type of stuff are good and decent but when your strongest mouthpieces constantly and consistently show themselves to be pieces of **** you have to start questioning what they're feeding you.

Donald Trump of all people being made the Republican nominee with rave endorsements by a lot of these people really drove home what I'd been feeling.

You could have been a successful comedian dude>  You trust, Obama, the Clintons, Chris Matthews. and the weird looking chick who said she had trump's tax returns ?

That's a fair point.  I threw out a suggestion months ago about this and generational welfare.  The tool part is him belaboring the point.  We had this discussion like I said several months ago, I said treat it the way Clinton treated welfare (that it is an aid, not a crutch) and get them off of it, the sooner the better.

The sticking point with some seems to be the "temporary" position, they believe it means forever.  It is definitely not a fully developed idea, but it would be interesting to work with people (congress) to figure out how to get in these poorer communities both rural and urban and figure out how they could have self-sustaining neighborhoods/communities.

"Look, I'm not a details guy, I'm just saying, let's take the right to vote away from people on welfare, elect their representatives for them, and have those representatives set benchmarks for those people to get their right to vote back."

You never said whether or not you think it's objectively meaningful to participate on this message board.

There is a lot to unpack from that sentence and none of it is positive.
