Jon Heyman reporting the Cardinals are quietly having preliminary convos with Chicago about Quintana. Nothing is expected to heat up with Quintana until July. Houston has been the most active team but have refused to meet Chicago's insane asking price. That asking price is why the Braves walked away from talks.

Cards and Molina close to an extension for 3 years $55M

That pretty much cements his place as a "Cardinal for Life."

Now I want Cardinals catching prospect Carson Kelly.

Good luck. As my Papa used to say "you can wish in one hand and sh!t in the other and see which fills up faster."

I think I'll wish, thanks.

Carson Kelly would be amazing to have but I slowly see Molina getting less playing time and Kelly getting more over the next few years.

No sense for teams to move big players now.  They will wait and see where their teams are in the standings by mid July where they arfe either buyers or sellers.  Teams in the hunt always overpay come the trade deadline.

The hill in CF in Houston is no more!

I loved the hill, sad to see it go.

Fixed

Braves aren't winning 86 games and winning the division. The very best I see them doing is breaking even at 81 wins.

You loved seeing players get shin splints and other injuries?

No, never injuries, but it brought back memories of old Crosley field in Cincinnati and I like the uniqueness of it.  .

Despite the criticism of Tal's hill there was never an injury caused by it.

You doubt this team. You're not a fan if you're negative about our Braves.

It's not being negative to give an honest observation.

I have no ill will towards Anthony Rizzo but it pisses me off that he gets all this attention and Freddie Freeman is completely ignored. Freddie Freeman is a better player than Rizzo. Watch the games. Look at the numbers. It's ridiculous that Freeman is ignored because the Braves are ignored.

2nd batter of the game, Gary Sanchez, drills a 1-hop liner right off Chris Archer's leg. Archer is staying in but we'll see how long he lasts.
