Looking ahead, all the key pieces are there

Recommended Posts

First off....I am crushed....my soul hurts this morning, but I had to look at things moving ahead and there is certainly positive news for us.   First off all, and I mean ALL of our key players are locked up...here's whats out there for next year's contacts/free agency

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS

Gabriel - lock him up, he is the real deal

Wreh-Wilson - meh

EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FREE AGENTS

Allen - Should hold onto him

Garland - versatile depth, keep him

King - probably keep him

Starr - meh

FREE AGENTS

Babineaux - I know he wants to play, and I love the guy...but age....

Chester - time to upgrade?

Compton - meh, depth

DiMarco - Good value, keep him

Freeney - wish he could have gone out on top

Goldson - bye

Ishmael - hope we keep him

Reynold - hope we keep him

Robinson - bye

Schaub - who cares

Tamme - hope he make one more run

Toilololololo - cheap...sure

Upshaw - id like to hang onto him

Spoon - so hurt...always

Weems - its time to move on

Wheeler - can upgrade

Worrilow - for the right price

That's it.......unlike the Panthers, Broncos, and Seahawk who were rocked by free agency after super bowl appearances, we won't be....so as they say  "The window is open"

That's looking at the glass half full. I hope I can get back there but for me it's too soon. If you can't win a superbowl with that kind of lead what can you do right? Pissing away a Lombardi could have repercussions. This is a loss nobody will forget, ever.

The alternative to me posting this, is me burning my office full of pats fans to the ground....I figured this one avoids prison time.  **** living in CT.

Allen - Should hold onto him  keep, also move Poole to FSBut the problem is can you sign Trufant to a new deal? If Trufant leaves we need pool in the NB spot and to drafta FS.

Garland - versatile depth, keep him keepI don’t see a problem with that.

King - probably keep him keep for camp – Is this guy even going to develop?

Starr - meh no – GTFO WASTE OF SPACE

FREE AGENTS

Babineaux - I know he wants to play, and I love the guy...but age.... hope he retires – Time for the battleship is retire and for the Falcons to give Hage and a new 3tech a chance. Maybe a guy like Watkins, Malik McDowell, Ryan Glasgow, or Caleb Brantley?

Chester - time to upgrade? early round pick and FA Guard – DAN FEENEY FOLKS

Compton - meh, depth depth through camp then decide - <<<< This

DiMarco - Good value, keep him keep, but may depend on OC – Not sure you can let him go.

Freeney - wish he could have gone out on top one more run? help with Beasley and new rookie DE? – Joe Mathis or Demacus Walker

Goldson - bye bye - Bye

Ishmael - hope we keep him keep - depth

Reynold - hope we keep him he's earned another year – I have no problem with him coming back.

Robinson - bye bye – Maybe a camp body….

Schaub - who cares meh – Yep…

Tamme - hope he make one more run bring back, but for depth now, may depend on OC too – Bye bye…. Bring in some fresh TE talent.

Toilololololo - cheap...sure yea why not? – Better under Quinn and Sanny. Show him love.

Upshaw - id like to hang onto him think he'll battle for spot in camp – Looked ok. Bring him in for depth.

Spoon - so hurt...always I REALLY want him healthy, but... – Later. Love you, but don’t need you since Jones is on fire.

Weems - its time to move on Fuller was IR, Weems gone – Fuller and Hardy will take his spot.

Wheeler - can upgrade, upgrade with FA & Draft – Just let him find a new home and give younger guys a chance.

Worrilow - for the right price right price for depth ONLY – He knows is limits. He will be cheap depth. If you want to call it that.

draft needs IMO...EDGE opposite Vic, OG (FA here maybe), DT opposite Grady, LB depth although a true Sam or Will (I think Campbell can play both) and put Vic back to permanent DE

Draft needs are :

Nickel Edge… JoJo Mathis is that guy. Clayborn will be back for the heavy packages.

OG both spots… Take Dan Freeney RG in the first and grab one of the FA’s for LG.

DT…. 3tech that can sub quick.

LB… Duke Riley is a guy we could pick up in the 3rd and have him fly around.

It's gonna come down to a couple of key developments during the offseason:

Improve the depth on the offensive line.

Upgrade at the guard position.

Acquire another edge rusher.

Acquire some competition at safety -- a project player that can develop over time ala Jalen Collins (I like Melifonwu).

That **** hurt, but we just need to not end up like the Panthers next year.
