Sydney Jones tore his achilles at the Washington pro day today

Sucks for him. What's he even doing working out at this point, he's proved everything he needs to.

Georgia WR/return specialist Isaiah McKenzie, who will take off his Ali jacket and run routes at today's Pro Day, told me he had a meeting at a hotel last night with Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong. McKenzie (5-7, 173) who ran a 4.42 40 at the combine, also had a private meeting with the Browns last night. Falcons just signed Andre Roberts, who GM Thomas Dimitroff said will "compete" for return duties.

I wondered if we would, similar to Gabriel, could be interesting as an UDFA

He'd be an interesting kid to even draft in the 7th. Certainly a  playmaker in college.

Another KR

Seems like Roberts will not be guaranteed his spot, and we'll be bringing in a host of KR options as UDFA to compete just like last year.

Edit: Watched his tape, used almost exactly how we use Gabriel

So two things from this:

1. Roberts is not guaranteed his spot, and will have a lot of competition for the returner role via UDFA this summer.

2. We're preparing in case we are unable to resign Gabriel.

http://draftanalyst.com/pro-day-march-16-update-clemson

Quote

Center/guard Cam Keizur, who’s rated slightly higher on our board than his teammate, measured 6035 and 303 pounds, completed 29 reps on the bench and touched 35.5 inches in the vertical jump and 9-foot-3 in the broad jump. His 40 time of 5.1s included a 1.75s 10-yard split. His short shuttle was 4.7s and three-cone 7.68s.

Keizur has a visit scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons and a workout with the Detroit Lions.

Villanova defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon told me he had a meeting upcoming with the Falcons. That meeting occurred Thursday as coach Dan Quinn went to Villanova to work out the 6-7, 289-pound Kpassagnon. The Falcons are on the trail for pass-rush help. Kpassagnon was an FCS All-American after registering 11 sacks in 13 games this past season. He also was credited with 21.5 tackles for losses. Kpassagnon finished his college career with 105 tackles, 37.5 tackles for losses, and 22 sacks. ``I've watched the tape and he's really ascending,'' Quinn told ESPN. Quinn also went to Temple to work out linebacker Haason Reddick (below), projected as the 22nd overall pick to Miami in Todd McShay's latest draft. Reddick a great story as a former walk-on.
