Your Gameplan vs. Rodgers

47 posts in this topic

We have 3 players with the insane closing speed needed to be interchanged in the "spy" role to keep A-A-Ron guessing in this game, so that's a huge upside.  They can disguise what they're doing a little easier because of the speed of Jones, Campbell & Beasley.

Do whatever they did in the first meeting in the second half. Held him to 8 points and got a last minute turnover on downs to end the game.

"However, GB is going to gameplan for that. " They can game plan all they want but Rodgers is slower than Russell Wilson we just faced. Our D unlike Dallas has speed and he wont have near as much time to run around.

Bring pressure from his right because he throws too well moving to his right. Have Allen play disciplined football and be aware that if Rodgers moves left (or right) then he has to shift in the same direction. And whoever is going to spy him needs to do his job and not over commit if he looks as if he's going to scramble. Maintain angles and do not let him get past the line.

1.)  1st half, try to establish long drives with the Running game as much as we can. Let's make ti Time of Possession battle on offense to keep him off the field.

2.)  Second half, hopefully there Defense is tired from all the running and we can then our running game can take more time off the clock.

If 1 and 2 are successful, our D can be ready to put more pressure on Rodgers the second half because they should be more rested with our offensive long drives.

We should bump or disrupt the guys going out for passes as much as we can to slow them down, so Aron does not have much time to throw.

We have Drew Breeze in our division and he throws the ball a lot more than Aron Rodgers.  Aron Rodgers just have bigger plays.

Gut feeling...Rodgers will run, run, and run some more. We pressure him and then make him pay when he tucks and runs....watch him for pump fakes close to the LOS and continue into him...don't come off your feet with his silly arse pumpfakes. Go straight at him whn this happens and wrap him up!!

Play smart. Keep in your rush lanes. Keep containment. Wrap up on tackles!  - Play smart football

hit him, hit him often, hit him late if u have to. Make him uncomfortable, if he scrambles hit him like he's a WR going across the middle.

GB is thinking the same exact thing...but you are absolutely right. If it means blitzing Neal and lowering the boom on his @#$%...then so be it.  Rodgers is clearly one of the greatest qbs of all time. You must disrupt him.  Stunt...blitz...whatever it takes!

Don't change a thing.  Jump out early and put up at least 21 points in the first half with the passing game, then run the ball with Coleman and Freeman in the second half. Rogers can't do nothing from the sideline.

Dallas actually had the blueprint for beating Green Bay, its just that their safeties and corners suck...

Rush 4 wth an attacking spy. The pocket will collapse and once escapes initial pressure the spy needs to be chasing after him. If he decides to stay home the spy needs to be like a free safety but in the hooks and just flow with his eyes.

Honestly, we should play them the way teams play the roll outs we use. Set someone to spy Rodgers, and have them rush while he's rolling out. Don't give him time to stand outside the pocket and look for receivers. If he rolls out, hit him.

I wish it were as easy as just keeping him in the pocket, abd I think we'll try that. But he will scramble out o buy time to find people downfield. Don't give him a chance to find them. I think Beasley's athleticism will be huge for us in this game if we win.
