Wow.  $50,000 a year guaranteed salary to play football and focus on getting ready for the nfl.  That is a pretty strong draw, plus you can dedicate 100% of your time to training and preparing for the nfl.  I'm guessing that if you choose this route you will forfeit your amateur status and thus not be eligible to play college football.

Makes sense and I think it definitely has potential as long as they keep the scope of it small. I don't like it for how it could take some of the best players out of college football who just don't want to do school, but it may be a necessary evolutionary force for the NCAA's archaic and naive sense of amateurism.

It will certainly benefit the guys who just aren't interested or prepared for college. I wonder what the reaction will be if/when a 5* player decides to go this route.
