fuego
ESPN reporter Ed Werder spoke with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman on the field after their wild-card victory over the Detroit Lions. At the end of the interview, Werder told Sherman that he’d see him at the NFC championship game — a subtle assumption that the Seahawks would advance past the Atlanta Falcons to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Falcons fans weren’t impressed. Werder has since offered a weak sort of half-apology, saying that being objective is important to him, and if he owes an apology to the Falcons they have it: Werder has a special relationship with Sherman, who has shut out Seattle’s local media by refusing to speak with any other reporters. In light of Werder’s conversation, that exclusive arrangement is likely to draw a lot of scrutiny. In any case, Werder’s comment did not go over well with Atlanta’s fans, some of whom are fuming over Werder’s perceived bias. Here’s a sample of some of the angriest tweets from Falcons fans on the subject: Sherman is already extraordinarily unpopular in Atlanta after what happened the last time the Seahawks and Falcons played. This just adds more fuel to the fire for what is sure to be a tense game. http://thefalconswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/08/falcons-fans-outraged-over-espn-reporter-ed-werders-comments-to-richard-sherman/
crimsonhawk
Atlanta needs to win the SB, if for no other reason than to make the ESPN universe implode upon itself.
JayOzOne
He's a tool and a Cowboys nut hugger. Seattle playing Dallas to go to the Super Bowl is one of his most frequent wet dreams. Screw him and his non-apology.
falcndave
/shrug. Maybe Ed's already seen the NFL's post season script and leaked the "surprise" plot twist...

TheUsualStuff
What exactly is an Ed Werder, and why do I care? Quite frankly, the name sounds made up.
GoFalcons22
I didn't realize Sherman had tickets to the NFCCG. I figured after bwing kicked out of the playoffs he wouldn't feel like making the trip.

slamee101
I didn't really think it was a big deal. Werder is a Dallas guy and everyone knows it so if he was going to see Sherman again he knew they'd have to beat Atlanta, etc. That said, I love that it can work as bulletin board material in the locker room. Any perceived slight is a bonus.
Dem Birds
It's funny because I'm pretty certain neither Dallas or Seattle will be there.
NCFalconfan
I'd have to watch ESPN in the first place to have seen this. I don't so I didn't. Screw 'em.
QuinnTorris
Time for Atlanta to actually bump the script and shut these disrespectful reporters down. Every time something like this has happened in the Ryan era, the Falcons always fold. We need to stomp Seattle and establish ourselves as a real powerhouse threat. **** this dude. raysnill1
time for Atlanta 'fans' to quit being such pansies. he said it, get over it and quit crying. get your butt to the stadium on time and make some noise and support the team to a victory, then respect will be earned. sheesh
