TonyMartin80
This includes offense, defense and special teams. In your opinion who do you think was the single best player on the 1998 NFC Champion team. I tnink the best player on that team was Tony Martin. He gave defenses nightmares and stretched the field. Jamal Anderson would not have had the great season if Tony Martin did not stretch field the way he did. Tony Martin was the man!
Drew4719
Of course you would say Tony Martin!
Duff_Man
Robbie Tobeck was probably the most unheralded guy on that team.
Godzilla1985
Jamal Anderson. He was the engine that drove that offense. 1800+ yards rushing 400+ carries.
FalconinPA
I will say the obvious in my opinion, Jamal Anderson. I also agree OP that Tony Martin made a lot of things possible for that offense. But Jamal was the workhorse that season. But the whole team was special. I maybe be wrong, but the team this year has that same kind of feel to it. Like that 1980 team had, just felt magical
Skeetbird
Jamal definitely. They all played their part. But Jamal was the work horse.
Smiler11
You are biased though lol. Are you actually Tony Martin? I don't know if he was the best but we rode Jam that year. He's was the most critical to our success.
newgafatboy
Jamal,,, i remember one run where he stiff armed three defenders , shoved one out of bounds like a rag doll and crushed the other straight down in the ground like he was an empty beer can... man my heart broke when his second knee went out on him.... and that whole defensive line was a killing machine Edited January 5, 2017 by newgafatboy
The Daywalker
Obviously Jamal then Terrance Mathis. Clutch catches the whole season.
Statick
I'll have to say Tony Martin. He was definitely the deep threat the Falcons needed. Defenses had to respect him and it really opened up that offense.

dirteebirdee
Hard to pick a best player. Jamal ran so good behind Bob Christian...this set up Chandler for play action deep to Martin. (Chandler had one of the best play action fakes.). Also those 10 yard outs to Mathis.
buzz71
I would say it was Travis Hall. He was the heart and soul of the defensive line that year. Without Hall, the D line wouldn't have been near as dominant as it was.
nomak
Eugene Keefe Robinson
SavvyFalcon89
Maybe it's just me being bias lol....But Jessie Tuggle
BadMoonRising
As bad as this sounds it was Chandler, you can tell because when he finally struggled we lost the super bowl.
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
Big Play Ray was awesome.
DonOfThemBirds
Jamal and Morten Anderson. One was the soul of the offense/team. The other should be a HOFer, hopefully he gets in this year.
JDaveG
Morten Anderson. He was clutch as all get out all season, and he made the game winner to send us to the Super Bowl. If the Super Bowl had come down to his foot instead of Chandler's arm/brain and Robinson's jimmy, we'd have won.

Beast-N-Da-Sheetz
1. Jamal 2. Mathis 3. Tuggle 4. Ray (before Shannon violated him) 5. Brooking (Rookie) Hon mention: Chandler
Miller2Rison
Jamal Anderson hands down, think of how bad we were in 99 when Jamal went down for the season
