Congratulations to Vic Beasely

I looked but didn't see it posted, so I'm making this thread to Officially congratulate Vic Beasely on becoming the Falcons franchise single season sack leader for a player drafted by the Falcons after his 3 sacks today, with 13.5.

It is now the best single season performance for a pass rusher, drafted by this franchise (at least since sacks became a statistic); the previous record being Patrick Kerney with 13 in 2004.

Ladies and Gentleman the drought is over. We have finally drafted a dominant pass rusher for the first time in over a decade.

Oh, and as I have seen others mention, the single season franchise record for any Falcon (drafted or no) is Abe with 16.5 in 2008. Beasely is now #2 on that list, and we could very well witness history there as well, and see him take that record before the season is over. ;)

we need a great DT and a FS and our defense will be a lot better. bring back clayborn and maybe draft a specialist pass rusher who has one job

I'm honestly fine with Jarrett/Clayborn. I want to replace Brooks Reed. Dwight Freeney will most likely retire next season, I would love a true 3-down DE opposite of Beasley. Derek Barnett is a name that comes to mind, but Quinn probably already has a specific type of player he wants on the DL.

The reason I say Barnett is because he's such a long guy at 6'6 280, but he's athletic which means he can work the edge and also rotate to DT. If we wanted a Michael Bennett, he'd be the closest we could get.

Unfortunately, he's probably snatched up before we get a chance to pick.

lets just hope that they don't do what they did with Kerney and trade him to Seattle, man this franchise has done some boneheaded things.Just enjoying the ride.180 degree turnaround after last weeks heartbreaker.

Kerney wasn't traded, he opted out of the last 2 years of his deal to become an unrestricted free agent.

I don't see a date on this tweet. I sincerely hope it was immediately after the draft and not recent.

D-Led is a Dumbazz, but not that stupid...Had to be after the draft, and to be honest...Half of this board agreed with him

We need two fat monsters of 330 LBs + to rotate at DT during the game to help things. I do not care what scheme we run EVERY defense can use a couple of fat monster big guys taking up blockers in the middle. We need a Grady Jackson  type player on this team at all times.

Grady was a fan favorite. We get another Fat man up front cloggin up lanes and he will quickly become a fan favorite as well.

I remember being in the stands and Grady would stuff a run... The crowd around me would actually come to life and make some noise.
