Hawks October/November Thread

You don't give up on Baze, and the only thing about Korver is he was always going to be put on the bench. Just a matter of when now if you catch my drift.

THJ is starting to breakout, but it's like Vic Beasley is right now he has big games, but consistency is the name of game here.

Yeah. On the bright side, I don't feel bad about losing to the Lakers anymore. They are looking like a legit playoff team. Luke Walton has them playing a similar brand of basketball like we do, the Spurs, and the Warriors, and the talent they've stockpiled is beginning to show as a result.

THJ should be starting over Korver IMO. I'm not going to give up on Baze yet. I don't think this is a sign of bad things to come for him. Korver is on the down slide though.

Couldn't agree more. I think baze may be pressing due to living up to his new contract. However I think he will be fine.

ATLANTA -- Dwight Howard had 20 points and 14 rebounds in his first game against his former Houston teammates, Paul Millsap scored 23 points and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Rockets 112-97 on Saturday night.

The Hawks' scoring was unusually top-heavy. Kent Bazemore shook out of his early season scoring slump with 20 points.

James Harden scored 30 points and continued his hot start to the season by making 10 of 19 shots. He had 12 assists and nine rebounds.

Most of Harden's scoring came in the first half, when he had 24 points and all of his four 3-pointers in the game.

Harden has recorded at least 30 points and 10 assists in four of Houston's first six games.

Atlanta led most of the game as it snapped a streak of two straight losses.

Bazemore averaged only 7.4 points in the first five games but made three of four 3-pointers.

TIP-INS

Rockets: Houston lost its sixth straight in the series. ... K.J. McDaniels had 13 points. Ryan Anderson and Clint Capela each had 12 points.

Hawks: Millsap had 11 rebounds and five of Atlanta's 16 steals. The Hawks began the night leading the NBA with 11.4 steals per game and had 10 takeaways in the first half. ... Dennis Schroder had 12 assists and 17 points.

damm howard is a rebounding magnet

Horford just didn't bring that kind of muscle inside. We've missed this for years. With Howard on our team, we won't get bullied in the paint anymore.

Dwight is wiping Thompson out on the glass

This alone makes a HUGE difference, and why I think we're much better equipped to handle the Cavs with Howard instead of Horford.

Don't even know how we're still in this game. We've committed 18 turnovers. There aren't many teams in the league that can give up that many possessions and still lead the Cavs, especially on the road.

Been watching election coverage so I missed the game. But it looks like Baze had a good game and Howard dominated the boards.

Good to beat Cleveland, especially in Cleveland.
