ike barn87987
The Falcons have signed Blake Sims to their practice squad, per a source. They signed him as a running back https://t.co/uOe3rB1UEO

papachaz
good for him. I'm still sitting in the background hoping something will happen to sign Barrett Jones and develop him for our Oline. He would seem to HAVE to be better than Person......

hjerry
I have to guess that something happened in the signing of Gus Johnson to the PS which we were never made aware of. They reported on the main website that we had signed him, but he was never added to the roster page. Now we've signed Sims as a RB.

Gus Johnson was on the sidelines during the last game in street clothes. So I believe he is still on the PS until further notice.
4LoveoftheGame
cbssports.com has us signing Sims and releasing Gus Johnson. I still like Wilds, hope after his injury heals we re-sign him in the future.
Clark Kent™
This is strange to me. When i read about us signing him, my first thought was that maybe we were going to use him as a mobile QB to practice against since we play Cam 2x and Winston 1 once more plus whoever else we may play that is mobile. I don't understand signing a QB to our PS who we didn't have in TC and haven't had much contact with that i can recall.
ryanadonis
Well at least we got the QB of the future now
Knight of God
He's a RB. 5'11" 220lbs with good vision, decent shiftiness, not afraid of contact, and has good speed.
high impact
Sorry I will hold back my enthusiasm at this time. Unless he can put up more than 4 sacks in a season, I just think its not going to help out at all. The Falcons have 2 backs that could put up 1000+ yards plus per year. Just not behind the run blocking we saw last Sunday. I always say go out get a race engine and put it on a rusted out frame with 4 balled tires and take it to the race. I want to see a dang defense!! I want to see it NOW!!!
quickzero
I hope Sims gets a chance to play but im pretty sure he was brought here for us to practice against.
Gold4425
Vintage TD, how many years have we saw TD go and get a ??? guy instead of getting a football player who can help? This is TD weakness trait, guy just seems to not know how to fix the Birds.
ATLFalcons11
It's practice squad folks. Every move is not going to be the one that puts us over the top.
high impact
Sad but true. I need to get off my high horse anyway. No one they will bring in will help out in the pass rush anyway.
Halsey.
Falcons think they're signing the guy who made half their defense miss before scoring a td on Sunday.

I was gonna ask...why Sims? Do you actually think he gets in the rotation? We need that kind of size in the backfield...redzone.

notthatcool
So of all the out of work RBs and former college RBs looking for a shot we pick up a former QB to play RB.

Big_Dog
I like 6' 7" + linemen that if they get blocked on a pass rush they have a shot at deflecting.
