The next Aaron Curry, Victor Beasley Jr.

Victor is just like former ACC standout Aaron Curry. All hype, a good combine, and no action.

Coach Pete Carroll concedes that SLB Aaron Curry has been a disappointment as a pass rusher.

Curry will be used on the strong side at the line of scrimmage on early downs again. Carroll likes his physicality and ability to cover tight ends, but "he wasn't able to factor in the pass rush as we hoped," said Carroll. "He wasn't able to break into the top two rushers."

Oh and by the way Quinn was on staff then.

The Seahawks are planning to have SLB Aaron Curry drop back into coverage less in 2011.

"Especially in space," according to the National Football Post. A disappointment as a puss rusher, as well, Curry's strength and long arms make him solid around the line of scrimmage, but that's not the kind of player you usually take with the fourth overall pick in the draft.

I don't know what Beasley is good at? He can't play the run, he can't rush, and he surely can't dance.

? Aaron Curry wasnt drafted to be a pass rusher.......he was the best off-the-ball LB prospect in some time. And then he didnt work out. So it goes.

Beasley checked all the pre-draft boxes. If he ends up not working out, that will suck but it is what it is. Sometimes great prospects don't work out. It happens. A lot.

Thanks for the objectivity.  Sometimes it's nice to hear voices of clarity amongst the deafening throng of naysayers.

Beasley just didn't have any size to him what so ever. That's the issue right there. I don't think there's been a good round 1 pass rushing prospect since Anthony Barr, sans maybe shane ray?

Khalil Mack...or are you saying only prospects and Mack was not one?

His size isn't an issue.  The issue is that Beasley thinks he's a 300LB 34 DE w/ a spin move.  If he'd just play to his ******* strengths he'd be a force.  Oh and he has zero aggression.  You don't have to be "mean" in the NFL, but you have to want to "DESTROY" the guy across from you.  Pick him up after you've made his wife want to divorce him but destroy that dude across from you.

He's 235, and he gasses out too fast. Not a good combination.

He's gassing out because he's 235 lbs and he engages with the tackle way more than he should.  His gift is speed.  He's big enough and strong enough to fend off a flailing tackle trying to match his speed, but he doesn't use his best ability.  He'd rather let a tackle put their hands on him and then try to spin away.   It's hard to watch.

He fit the pre draft combine boxes .......the tape looks exactly the same especially when you put into context the competition that he made look bad.

And to think so many here though he was going to be 10 sack guy ? What do you know.

When we drafted him I said he'd be the Jason Heyward of the Atlanta Falcons...

At least Heyward had some moments

Before the draft if you said he wouldn't produce you were vilified now that he's lacking those same people drop one line comments about the guy.

I can't take advice from anyone who said Vic Beasley was going to be great pass rusher

No, he fit significantly more than that. This wasnt about a combine superstar. This was about a SPARQ score in the 97+ percentile, his standing as a Force Player, his productivity in college, his standing in SACKSEER. Everything pointed to him being a good pass rusher. As did his Y1 pressure rates and tape.

That doesnt mean he was a "can't miss" or that no one was underwhelmed. But to suggest that his standing as a prospect wasn't deserved is simply inaccurate and ignores pretty much everything about how the predraft process works.

I bets that's exactly how TD's explains it
