RandomFan
I mentioned in another thread before cuts were announced to keep an eye out for us perhaps going after Eric Rowe or Pierre Desir.
Romfal
I'd imagine we cut Reynolds or another LB if we sign a Corner.
cwell1
I'd better not see Weems field a single kick. I'm sick of ignoring the field position battle with special teams. Weems aint breaking no returns

kingfalcon
it is too bad about Mckissic he was exciting and fun to watch on returns since there will be mohis year because of the new rule to the 25 we should have kept him I love Weems but would rather have the little bullet back there

hjerry
Mbu lost his spot to Upshaw in the end. McKissic as he said was battling Williams, and the Perkins addition removed any chance of us carrying 7 WRs.
hjerry
Complaining about Weems in relation to McKissic is silly, as Quinn has made it clear that wasn't who McKissic was in competition against.

Exactly Williams knows the playbook way better and can play a X factor peice in multiple sets. The guy is very shifty. I think it's crucial that all or players know the playbook well

He had 15 kick returns total... 12 of them went for 20-39 yards & two of them were 40+ yards. He had the 5th best YPR in the NFL last season for guys with 15 or more punt returns. He had 19 total punt returns... two of them for 20-39 yards & another that was 40+ yards. That was done in real games against opposing teams' starting ST units... not during a meaningless preseason game against a bunch of 3rd stringers & practice squad guys from the Redskins. Especially after all the chatter last year about how some of the offensive woes were attributed to seasoned vets like Ryan & Roddy struggling to fully grasp the playbook. If there is ANY weight to that thought at all, then it's an absolute must to have as many players as possible who already know the scheme. Experience is massive for this scheme, which is why guys like Mack, Robinson, Williams, & Schaub have an advantage over guys who are trying to learn the system. Not sure why that's so under sold on here. As far as this past preseason Nick Williams had 13 catches for 160 yards to McKissic's 8 for 79. McKissic's return was his biggest claim to fame. I know folks are starved for a viable returner, but with no Hester, having someone who only returns kicks isn't really an option I don't think. If u really think this is an argument, we might as well bring Steven Jackson back, I wonder what Terance Mathis is doing right now? Think he could reel in his 60 catches a year next to Julio? Weems brings that element of toughness in that phase of the game. Even when he's not returning playing as a gunner he knocks the ****e out of people. To me McKissic missed the roster because of Robinsons deeper threat ability. We were never just going to take a Hester type specialist returner and with the lessening effect of PR/KR I think having versatility was the key. And he's not breaking any punt returns. Dude is a glorified fair catcher at this point in his career. And with the way our offense has been prone to stall, we need as much in the return game as we can get. When u have a offense that stalls, and a defense that doesn't take the ball away u can't just put special teams to the side like this. The problem is teams punt to us very high because we have been such a threat in the return game for years. The only down time we had was when we let Weems go. Then Hester came and we were a threat again. Weems can handle that job trust me.
