AvidFalconFan
I know it's preseason and most of the starters were not playing, but I was impressed with how Simms handled himself and his interceptions were passes that should have been completed. His passes were on target and he has good mobility and pocket awareness. I have been a Matt Ryan supporter from day one. I see something special in Simms. I remember us giving up on a former QB who we traded and he is now a HOF. Wore the same number 4. Its just an opinion so try not to be too hard on my opinion. THEHEADCOACH
Maybe in time he can be. I would rather keep him over Shaub. He is young and may keep getting better.

AndySG
He's about to turn 28. I think he is what he is. Might develop into a competent backup, though.
Nono
naaa but I don't see Matt Ryan's contract being extended if we don't do better than 6-10 this year

Godzilla1985
What is up with this flood of members with 2 posts starting "pot stirring" threads here lately???
Big_Dog
You have to be blind not to see Simms' abilities. We keep him over Shaub. Hopefully Ryan will get a spark lit under his azz from watching Simms passes and fearless runs for yardage. All traits that have slipped away from Ryan since 2012. JDaveG
He's a great developmental QB. He ain't replacing Ryan though.
FentayeJones
The same folks who want Ryan replaced will want Simms replaced within 3 games if he was the starting QB.
droopy1592
He would throw less pick sixes than Schaub

brewman
He's got a good arm, and seems to have poise in the pocket. Certainly worth keeping on the practice squad as a minimum.

atlGM
He's been great all preseason. It's one of those you won't until the opportunity presents itself . He has definetly been impressive. Just don't know what he'd look like against ones.
JC Falcon
Counting Matt Simms? Then no, you are not the best only one.
since68andcounting
He made some bad reads last night. He missed #14 wide open on flag routes twice in a row. He's an average backup imo. if I just dropped down from Mars and had never seen the Falcons befor this preseason, I would say we don't really have a franchise starting QB.
