Terrelle Pryor on 50-yard TD: I knew I’d beat Desmond Trufant

Terrelle Pryor didn’t get too many opportunities to show off his ability as a wide receiver after making the move from quarterback last season as he caught one pass in three games for the Browns.

It looks like things will be playing out differently this season. Pryor has been installed as a starter on the team’s present depth chart and he followed up a good preseason opener by catching a 50-yard touchdown pass against Falcons corner Desmond Trufant on Thursday night.

After the game, Pryor shared the confidence he felt when the call came from quarterback Robert Griffin III.

“I knew I had him when we called the play,” Pryor said, via Cleveland.com. “I knew I was going to beat him.”

When coach Hue Jackson was asked what Pryor’s knack for making big plays downfield means for opposing defense, he said “they better back up ’cause he’ll run by you.” Jackson also pointed out places where Pryor needs to improve, which you’d expect for a player still learning the finer points of the position. Whatever the flaws, it seems clear that Jackson likes what he’s seen from Pryor and that Pryor will keep getting chances in what’s shaping up to be a very different looking Browns offense.

Not making excuses cause he went and got it but he gave Tru a subtle push near the top of the route....you see Tru running step for step and he suddenly slows down and Pryor separates by about 3 steps. I think Tru didn't expect him to be capable of that though he caught him slippin

He should save his lip flapping for regular season.

His TD means nothing and his running his mouth against a man whose gained much respect around the league just tells me he's a wanna be...

So until he shows out in the league as a WR for several years you may want to hold off until your somebody other than a QB fail job..

Bush league chump...
