Play by Play Deion Jones (10 plays)

This will be a description of 10 plays by Deion Jones (DJ) during the game vs Washington. I will not attempt to explain why he made the moves he made or if it was a good decision or bad decision. If you want to only read the plays DJ was apart of you can scroll to the CAPITOL LETTERS section.

THE RUNNING BACK IS THEN TACKLED BY WHEELER FOR NO GAIN.

(2nd Qtr)(2nd & 10)(Time 12:31) (Screen Pass)
BALL SNAPPED-- DJ TAKES TWO STEPS TOWARDS LOS. WASHINGTON CENTER HEADS TOWARD DJ TO BLOCK. DJ EXTENDS HIS ARMS AND FIGHTS OFF THE BLOCK. DJ THEN TACKLES RB AS HE GOES OUT OF BOUNDS FOR A 5 YARD GAIN.

(2nd Qtr)(3rd & 5)(Time 11:52)( QB scramble)
Ball snapped-- Running back emerges out of back field and cuts left. DJ coverages RB tightly. DJ is literally the RBs shadow. QB scrambles to the opposite side of the field for a 1st down.

(2nd Qtr)(1st & 10)(Time 11:17)(Run Play)
Ball snapped--DJ  moves forward toward LOS where he's met by  blockIng tight end. DJ extends his arms and fight off of block. Tackle is made by Campbell ( for a 1 yard loss) before DJ frees himself of block.

What I noticed:

DJ is a fast LB and has the ability to cover as we all know. But he also does a good job of fighting off blocks. On the screen play, he was the only defender in the area. It was remarkable that he was able to fight off a block and prevent the RB from getting a first down.

There was one play that he bounced off the RB for what would have been a great stop. But the positive was he slowed the back down enough to allow Wheeler to come and make the tackle.
