Falcon918
The Falcons are going to rotate their defensive front like crazy By Dave Choate @TheFalcoholic on May 17, 2016, 12:15p 3 Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports The proof is everywhere. TWEET SHARE (66) PIN One of the hardest things about projecting a depth chart for theFalcons this year is that there's so much uncertainty surrounding the team's plans at multiple positions. Particularly along the defensive front, however. With yesterday's news that Ra'Shede Hageman is moving to defensive end, it's more clear than ever that Dan Quinn has the players he wants, and he's going to shuffle them as he sees fit. I mean, thus far this offseason, we've heard that: Hageman is going to play defensive end; Vic Beasley is going to play linebacker and end; Derrick Shelby is going to play defensive end and defensive tackle; Brooks Reed could play linebacker and end; Courtney Upshaw could play linebacker and end. And there's likely more we simply haven't heard yet, including the possibility of Keanu Neal and/or Kemal Ishmael getting a little run at linebacker. When you have a versatile defense with some talent, this is a great approach, as the Seahawks have illustrated, and Quinn certainly subscribes to the Seattle method of both team-building and deployment. The only problem is that he doesn't have that caliber of defense just yet. The upshot here is that you should pencil everyone's roles in until late this summer when we have some more clarity, and we'll hope this makes a traditionally weak Falcons defense a strong unit in 2016. http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2016/5/17/11683976/the-falcons-are-going-to-rotate-their-defensive-front-like-crazy Edited May 18, 2016 by Falcon918

trubirdfan4life
Then we get caught in certain personnel and they game plan no huddle against it. I like having guys who do different things, but it can backfire as it did on several occasions last year

Falcon918
But thats how the defense is run. We have better players than last year. A lot of teams rotate guys in/out all game. The offense can get confused if the right call is not made. I think it can play into our hands because we have different combinations we can throw out on the field this year. The O.D.B
Let's Hope in TC there is a big effort to infuse into players that you need to hustle and get your butt off the field. I don't want any more flags flying because someone lolligaged.

Now we have the bigger slower LBs and DEs in the game....making us open to alot more depending on the personnel grouping... just like if we have our nascar package in and teams run power against it.....happens all the time...to everyone. We have worrilow and upshaw in with hageman and tjax in......they go empty.....its not in our favor on that play

They come out with 2 TEs you have in the bigs. They come 3 wide its Nickel. NASCAR is for obvious passing situations. If they sub we sub. Teams don't typically run a lot of no huddle for a reason.

Watch the games bruh, happened to us repeatedly last year. 2 TE SET.....then everyone splits out....we were toast. Theoretically, should be more athletic on some packages, but we also got bigger for some packages. Thats where the issues lie. if they don't sub, you wont have time to.....got caught numerous times like that as well. We throw from 2 TE regularly, because of the matchups it gives us....other teams do it to us as well

We were a very potent offense when they let matt run the show from the line....now we have mr. Wizard as OC. He knows more than everybody. Who is going to tire out quicker?

KRUNKuno
Hate it. No consistency is gained at all from a player standpoint. It just further shows that we have no real players that can finish on this team.

Beasley should get more. T Jax and Hag may see similar snaps just at different positions. Shelby should take all of Biermann's snaps (though between both DE and DT.) We need Hageman or Clayborn (or T Jax which I don't see) to step up so Shelby or Babs don't have to end up with a ton extra snaps.

That spot has to be the most versatile in regards to this. If we get caught heavy and they spread it out, he needs to cover. If we get caught light he comes down in the box. But about 35 snaps a game with 4 turnovers would suit me just fine.
