We got the worst rated draft from PFF

I actually didn't mind our first round pick.  I wish we could have traded down and got Neal later, but that's a small complaint considering we didn't have any offers to trade down.  I also like the Hooper pick.  I am a little worried about our second round pick Jones though.  It's hard to grade a draft before any of the players actually see the field, so I am not going to criticize PFF or any other website grading the draft, as it's all conjecture at this point.

The only pick they really criticized was Neal by saying players with his skillset are "littered throughout the draft." Which I call bull on. They also mentioned Dion Jones gets blocked out sometimes. Every other pick they actually had good remarks about so the grade is confusing

What team/teams do you feel had a worse draft than the Falcons.

It doesnt matter. We arent the worse if the team moves forward and we wont know that til week 1. Plus i only pay attention to nfc south for the most part. Saints had a good draft. Bucs were decent except for the kicker trade up. I think we came in 3rd in the division

Everyone but the Jaguars, Bears, and Cowboys to be honest

Cowboys?  Really?  Another overrated draft by them grabbing a RB with the first pick instead of addressing a gaping hole on their defensive line?  They had just signed Alfred Morris. Also grabbing a LB in the second who may never even play a snap.  Yeah, great draft!

I hate how easily the word "reach" is thrown around in draft analysis.
It's not a reach if the player you wanted wouldn't be available by your next pick, regardless if he was projected another 10-20 spots later.
This whole infatuation with trading down in the first 2 rounds is also ridiculous. It's not easy to complete trades like this and every "expert" talks about it all the time. Stupid.

I have no idea why football fans are so defensive about sites that offer hard data based off of on-field performance. Everyone has a draft style. Some teams prefer measurables, others like upside, and some prefer players who accomplished great things on the field. PFF evaluates the third category, and they're excellent at it. The fact that they didn't like our draft is troubling. The only upshot of it is that they're still relatively new in grading college players, which means that they'll need several more seasons to streamline and enhance their system. I'm hopeful that quality of opponent is the primary explanation for why so many of our players can't tackle. What bothers me the most is that we've been a bad tackling team for a few seasons now. Adding several more guys with that flaw is alarming.
