Little letters
NFC South Atlanta Falcons Draft pick: Keanu Neal (No. 17 overall) Day 1 grade: A The skinny: Neal will likely play as a linebacker for the Falcons, flying all over the field and aiding in coverage. That's exactly what they needed.

4dabirds
Neal at LB...HMMMM Is this the creativity that TD is talking about? Crazy to think the Falcons would use a 1st pick on a project player, but if it is true and it works out then it is genius. However, if it is true and is a failure, and the Falcons miss out on superstars drafted after Neal...I don't even want to think about that. Return of the Gaucho
They gave us a good great based on a false understanding. I really don't think Neal would hold up as an actual LB, though the role of the SS in this system puts him in the box more than usual. TheeTKOBeatz
Aka the shaq Thompson move...not that much of a stretch, definitely upgrades the athleticism Of the lb corp...I think they will put him where he's the best regardless, whether lb or safety...in Quinn I trust

roguebeaver
The reason the Fslcons draft of Neal was rated so high, is because of Sooooorry Akz Worryuslow! Wants Neal in and Low out of here!

If spoon is healthy, we will have Spoon, Worrilow, Wheeler as ILBs But we need more... so we will probably get a LB with the next pick
Dirtybird56
Well he won't be playing LB for us. Parts of his role are similar to that of an LB with how often he'll be in the box but it ends there

BUT, BUT, BUT, the whole POINT of Quin's defense is to use a STRONG SAFETY as a hybrid, not AS a linebacker.........lmao Neal isnt REPLACING anybody at linebacker, he will be in the box WITH the other linebackers as a strong safety........... In the TAMPA TWO defense, your middle linebacker plays SAFETY as PART of the scheme. There is a DIFFERENCE in the schemes. How do these writers, never mind. Kam Chancellor plays more linebacker than Safety for the seahawks, thats just how the 3 deep zone scheme works.

These so-called draft experts seem to only do cursory research before they actually write these things, so its not much of a surprise. Can't blame them really, that would take up a lot of their time, which is usually reserved for writing 10 irrelevant mock drafts. You know, to showcase how smart they are.
