Don't know the details but makes me think maybe we won't go guard in the draft. Maybe between Person and Chester they think there's a starter.

I think there's still a pretty large probability that we draft an o-lineman. They didn't waste a bunch of time scouting that many if it wasn't gonna be a real possibility.

Chester was recovering from surgery I believe. We had probably extended the offer to him a while back & he was just waiting to see how his body was doing & if he had any better offers coming his way. Being so close to the draft, he knows that nobody's going to offer him much  when they could just draft a much younger player, so he accepted our offer finally.

He'll be quality depth, but IMO likely not a starter unless someone else goes down.

IMO we *have* to go G/C in the draft.

I'd get a G in the 3rd or 4th and pick up a C to develop in the 7th so he can learn behind Mack.

We abso-lutely must build our lines.

We're not drafting an interior offensive lineman in the first 4 picks anyway.  Kyle Shanahan led offenses dont draft them early.  Only once has a Kyle Shananhan led offense drafted an interior offensive linemen and that was a center in the 3rd round when he was with the Texans.

Even when Boy Wonder had his papa as head coach an interior offensive linemen wasnt taken until the 5th round at the earliest.

He drafted Joel Bitonio in the 2nd round, 3rd pick when he was the OC in Cleveland
