Red zone offense

Recommended Posts

Matt Ryan said the team needs to improve its offense inside the red zone this season.

The Falcons finished 18th in red zone scoring last year, down from sixth in 2014. Atlanta certainly has the tools to be a force inside the red zone. Julio Jones is a nightmare to defend while Atlanta's running game was much improved last year with Devonta Freeman leading the charge. Ryan said he's more comfortable in OC Kyle Shanahan's offense after going through a tough adjustment period in 2015.

When I started thinking thru the offensive changes for this off season, I think the Mack and Sanu signings are going to be huge. We were able to move the ball down the field by stretching the field with WRs (though we didn't really deep throw deep at all) for the flats and crossing routes. Once the field shrunk to less than 20 yards, it became difficult to stretch the field.

That's why I love the Sanu and Mack signings. It hopefully gives us two huge bodies for those fade post routes to the corners as well as a strong line to bruise open some holes for Freeman or DiMarco to power thru some arms for yards!

if the falcons can run effectively inside the red zone [and cut down on the stupid mistakes], they'll be a very hard team to stop. If you have to worry about stopping Freeman on the ground, one of Jones, Hardy, Sanu and Tamme will be open. Dimarco might get a few looks too.

All Sanu will be is a reason to get plasterd after the game, because his hands have more butter than a cheep movie and a Taco Bell date. all it's good for is a good j^&$ing at the end of the nite and a hand full of tears

A couple of things, work with Tolioi and his hands he could be an 6:7 asset. Draft or pick up UDFA from UGA, RB 250 lb Q. Hicks and let him barrel through the 3rd and 2's. Also get J. Rome TE 6:6 250, #1 H.S. TE coming out of H.S. Basketball All State a dunk machine. He is going to be a steal in UDFA.
