insight
Sanu is not a proven #2, he is the 4th or 5th option on a talented offensive team. He has never even exceeded a 1,000 yard season and is known for trick plays more than anything else. This is a situation where we are going to overpay a guy because our option are limited. DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
I don't know how we can say we've "developed the perception that this is where WR2s come to die" when he's only been here one season, Roddy looked like **** before he got here and Hankerson looked fine but dropped balls and could stay healthy....neither on Shanahan. If we don't sign Sanu, there are multiple viable alternative options. We'd be fine. In some situations, we'd be better. Plus, there's always the draft. TSprings
Absouslty no. Hardy can do everything Sanu can do. How bout a tight end that can stretch the field. How about a Colby Fleener

gHost83
I wouldn't pay Sanu over 2.5 per. Dude had less than 400 yards total and, more importantly, ZERO TDS last year! ZEROOOOOOOOOOOO! I mean Gio (in a RBBC) had more passing yards than this guy. This guy would be a downgrade to Roddy. Not fast and doesn't get much separation. We need someone with speed who would make teams pay if they try to cheat safeties over to Julio's side of the field. Gimme Fuller in the second round. Floyd, Fuller, Tapper, Glascow, developmental SS is my ideal draft
Aries2887
Nope, Treadwell in the 1st, LB/SS in the 2nd,LB/SS in the 3rd, Guard in the 4th. Edited March 10, 2016 by Aries2887
Bobby.Digital
Iunno man most Bengals forums I'm reading are laughing at the rumored 7+. My buddy who's a big bengals fan doesn't think he's worth close to 7 mil. Also Sanu stats look comparable to Jones cause he played about half the season in 2014 as the Bengals #1 WR with Green, Eifert and Jones injured. If Roddy didnt fit in this offense , sanu wont either. Cutting Roddy is gonna bite us in the azz this year. Should have waited till we built up our WR depth. We had to make the brat happy though. It certainly might come back to haunt us cutting Roddy because Sanu isn't the answer as our #2. I do believe we still have a chance to upgrade the WR2 position though. We have to hope Shanny works out for us though, because if he doesn't, we are stuck with a zone blocking oline that will take years to turn over if we go back to power offense. kiwifalcon
Roddy coming back to haunt us well he probably could only run a 4.8 40 so that haunting your all talking about,we'll probably be waiting awhile. Some of you guys are absolute battlers.Roddy was done end of why for the love of good are you still holding on. Let it go.

Yeah, im hoping somehow it works out. I want a new number 2 as well, but i just dont believe sanu is it. I just think with the number of WR spots on the team, there was no reason to cut Roddy for the little bit of money we saved. Now if we go sign Sanu, we have wasted even more than we saved, and still need a number 2. At least Roddy would have been a slight upgrade over the rest of our WRs and would have gave us more time to upgrade and less dead money. It just wasn't a logical cut, it was to keep shanny happy. But if shanny doesnt work out, i guess we could always stay with the zone blocking scheme, just a more reasonable coach. I guess we will see what happens. I just hope Sanu becomes a beast if we sign him. Here's to hope!

I believe when you cut a guy, replace him with someone better if that is what you are going to do. There are lots of WRs better than where Roddy is at now. Sanu isn't one of them though... See how for the love of god can you talk about Sanu being worse than a declining Roddy when he hasn't touched the Branch let alone hit the field in a Falcons Uni. All your doing is assuming and you know how that saying goes.
