He's always got his Super Bowl ring, he's going back to play for his old coach, with a young team that could be on the verge of something. They won one less game than we did.

He did all that talking last year about coming to ATL. So 1) coming home should make us more attractive 2) A more experienced team that is closer to ready than Oak 3) Better ownership

These players really could give a **** about winning it seems. Show em the money and they'll go. Yes and no. I mean there's no reason to think the Raiders won't have just as good or a better season than the Jags. Plus Irvin already has his ring. Personally, I'd do the same thing he's doing. Cash in and grow with another team. He's won a Super Bowl already theres no reason to think he can't win another one in Oakland/Vegas/LA

Uhmmm.... That's free agency when the cap goes up... Guys get overpaid and set a new market value. The Falcons haven't been drafting well but they make up for it by not having success in free agency. Begotten912
They have just about everything we had in 2011-2012 and more. Great young defense and a great young QB+WR combo.

Did we win one more game than they did? And that was playing the 2 weakest divisions in football against several backup QBs.

Riseup radio
I get crucified for saying such but we knew since 2012 that our number one priority was the PASS RUSH!!!!!!....a PASS RUSH can mask other issues (like a mediocre secondary & suspect LBers) & in my opinion MOST of the issues we have right now. **** if we had one that season (in 2012) Kaepernick wouldn't have been able to just stand in the pocket and pick us apart and we would have had at least one Super Bowl by now. Now it's 2016 & we have yet to firmly address such thru FA/draft. EVERY TEAMS KNOWS THATS OUR GREATEST WEAKNESS & 2 EXPLOIT SUCH & when they play us THEY EXPLOIT IT. The blame has to start at the top with Blank (because he loooooves Julio, wants to sell tickets & won't even think of endorsing an edge rusher w an edge about him or even a small history I.E Greg Hardy etc) I mean hey i love Julio Jones too but we signed him to that mega deal that I fight with my fellow Falcon fans all the time about. We have invested ALOT of $$$$ into 2 guys Ryan/Jones but the reality is WE HAVE MANY HOLES TO FILL. So once those two were signed to so much money realistically how much money do you guys think we have left to spend???? You guys asked and asked and asked for us to make a splash in free agency but the reality is there is something called a cap, we don't have as much money to spend as teams like the Jags the Raiders etc. We need to be balancing where that $$$ should have went. I know we love those 2 BUT THIS IS A BUSINESS making personnel moves is business not personal. If it was me I would have taken the Bellichek or Seattle approach (which would have been to trade him in the offseason or let him walk when he was a FA) because I would have rather put that 80 million into an elite pass rusher and an offensive lineman or elite pass rusher and an inside linebacker than into one player and don't get me wrong (I'm a Julio Jones fan) but Julio Jones is injury prone, can be neutralized (when there's a safety over the top of him and because of the fact that we don't have a legit second option) & you need an O-Line/Ryan to do well enough to even get Julio the ball....you can win without a STAR WR but you cannot win without a pass rush in today's NFL so you have to do whatever it takes to get one...Championships & dynasties are won thru DEFENSE (which I'm sure Dimitrioff understands) but until the right moves are made & pan out SURING UP THE DEFENSE we will suffer POINT BLANK PERIOD
AndySG
**** it then. I don't want to see us waste our time with a pass rusher in FA. Solidify the offensive line and hopefully get either a SS or MLB. Get younger and faster on D through the draft.

PantherWake
In all seriousness tho, Irvin was a must pickup for the Falcons. He and Cam Jordan have done the best job consistently at sacking Cam Newton
