Try not to forget about the teams who opened up the pocketbook

Recommended Posts

Spent freely, picked the wrong guys, and now suck...and have no cap room to show for it. Teams have to spend to win, but they have to spend on the right guys. If you spend on the wrong guys, or get unlucky due to injuries, your team is sunk for years. I'd certainly like for us to spend more, but I'd also like to see us not mortgage the future and put it all on 32 black. So, it's definitely about balance. At least we've maintained flexibility.

Think about all the guys we brought in who have failed to live up to expectations: Ray Edwards, Asamoah, T-Jax, Solial, Durant, on and on. People assume had we splurged on a couple of bigger names rather than several value picks things would have worked out better. But what if they didn't? Plenty of guys get paid and lose their fire. Or just get hurt.
