Dirtybird3
How much is mack going to be asking for? Kelechi Osemele reportedly agrees to deal with RaidersEmail comment 10:47 AM ET ESPN.com news services Offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele will become the newest member of theOakland Raiders when the new league year opens Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, NFL Network reports. The two sides have an agreement in principle, according to the report. Agents were permitted to talk to teams about their clients Monday at noon ET although no contract can be signed until after the league year begins. The Raiders are among the teams with the most money under the salary cap and as of Tuesday they were more than $60 million under the league's spending limit. Osemele, 26, is considered one of the most physical and versatile offensive linemen in free agency. He boosted his value last season when he switched from left guard to left tackle for the final four games. Osemele was also the Ravens' starting right tackle in the Super Bowl in 2012. Aller/Getty Images A second-round pick in 2012, Osemele built a reputation as a mauling run blocker and sound pass protector. He gave up one sack and 10 quarterback hurries last season. But his play often got overshadowed by guard Marshal Yanda, a five-time Pro Bowl lineman. Ravens officials said they made an "aggressive" offer to Osemele at the NFL combine, but Baltimore was unable to keep him out of free agency. Osemele was one of two Ravens starters who were unrestricted free agents (linebacker Courtney Upshaw was the other). Big Reg Da Commish
Osemele got that much because he proved last year he can also play left tackle. Left Tackles get paid more then any of the other offensive lineman.
g-dawg
I am all for Alex Mack but I think anything north of $8mm/yr is a mistake. Granted our center has sucked azz and you want a good center, but we don't have to have that kind of coin invested - it is overkill. Also, Mack is a good center but coming off a down year and injury - he's just not worth more than the $8mm/yr that he opted out already w/ Cleveland. My limit: 4yrs $32mm and guarantee the first two years.

Sam Baker's Contract
Its funny how a lot of views change in couple of years. People and fans were against Mack making big money couple of years ago now they are for it. Odd

So far, all I've seen reported is that we're interested, the Jags are backing off, and the Browns are looking Wisniewski. Who knows, maybe we want him at $8, he wants $10, and they compromise at $9. Even in that case he'd be quite a bit better off in guaranteed $$$, as he was only guaranteed $8 million more under his old deal. isproab
Not sure if he is a LT or OG. I know he was a OT at Iowa State that kicked down to Guard in the NFL. Go get an upgrade at Guard and Center. Boone, Sweezy....just get some better guys that can play. Ben Jones is a free agent and so is Stefen Wisniewski. Falcons need one guy from each group. Add your own names as long as they are better than what we had in 2015.

Odd I can't understand the infatuation with Mack, but I guess after watching Person snap for 15 games fans are inclined to take drastic action. I would much rather give $4 or 5M to Ben Jones or Wisniewski. 19 minutes ago, Sam Baker's Contract said:

WOR
This helps us. Mack is reportedly asking over 10. Hard to justify asking for LT money

Under his previous contract, he would have gotten a salary and probably nothing more. With a new contract, he will receive a signing bonus and larger guaranteed sum. He should be able to sign a contact that averages 8-9M/yr with half of the sum guaranteed.
halifaxfalcon
$9mm/year would make him the highest priced center in the league again. 5 years $45mm $18mm guaranteed would be a good deal imo
