Schaeder?

Give me a second round pick so we can get better on D sign Long for a 1 year deal at RT AND address RT next year. Please let that happen

That actually sounded way less stupid, so I'll give you that. But I would still prefer we didn't do that. But I'll grant you it might be an interesting experiment if we were playing Madden. I do think right tackles are more important than you think, though.

Why we've developed him he's done a good job for us so why not pay the man.I don't know how you think a finding a replacement with the age and wholes we have along side him.At the moment we have 2 bookend OT's man at this point in time I'm not ready part with Schraeder we need familarity upfront not constant change. If we have the cash I'd pay him.

I don't. I just insist you don't know how 5th year options work for rookies still on their free agent contracts.

I never said he denied the 5th year option did I? I said HE MAY HAVE DECLINED OTHER CONTRACT OFFERS. You're reading comprehension is trash.

I don't think you know how this works.

Actually I'm very familiar with how the restricted tag works.  We have the ability to assign an original pick tender or 1st or 2nd.  The higher the pick we assign the higher the 1 yr. salary.  Any team that signs him to an offer sheet we have the ability to match or we get the assigned draft pick in return.  Pretty simple concept.  I'm just curious why we have never approached some of our core players about a long-term deal rather than waiting until they approach UFA.  Once Cordy Glenn, Kelechi Osmele and Russell Okung sign the price is only going to go up.  By re-upping now we are assuming some risk if Schraeder regresses but locking in a lower average salary more than likely.

The unintentional irony is off the charts. I've tried to even post you links so that you could understand how 5th year options work and the only thing you want to do is call me stupid. You're insane.

Show me where I EVER said he declined the 5th year option. I'll wait.

You've said Irvin might have declined other offers. Seattle didn't need to make Bruce Irvin any offer. They could have picked up his 5th year option, made no offer, and Irvin would have played one more year in Seattle for about $7 million. But they didn't want him. I know your brain is broken, but just try.

Maybe they don't want him for just one year, maybe they want a long term deal. They have talked to him about staying.

Let's pretend you really liked a player. You thought he was really good. And you really wanted him to be on your team. And so you talked to him about a long term deal, but you couldn't agree on a price. WHY WOULDN'T YOU MAKE HIM PLAY ONE MORE SEASON FOR $7 MILLION RATHER THAN POTENTIALLY LETTING HIM WALK?

Just answer me that. Since you're soooo smart and I'm so stupid.

Because the deadline has passed.
