Which Top Tier Free Agent Should The Falcons Sign?

If we sign any top tier free agents we will likely only sign one. Which one would make our team better this year and the next five years?

Mario Williams, good scheme fit and great mentor for Beasley. By bringing in pass rushing talent, he can individually make our defense so much better

This year isn't the year to be big spenders. Too many other teams that'll run up the price on folks.

For all I care, it could be Hingle McCringleberry. Not one person is going to help us when TD drafts a corner in the first round and follows up with a project in the second.

No he won't be but if we can get 2-3 years while building around him I'd be good with that.

You can't guarantee any of the mentioned will be any good for 5 years.

Only reason I ever wanted Mario is because we at least have 2 guys who can fly off the edge and do damage.**** looking back now and the last 4 seasons and Mario's production you replace Abe's production and run stopping to it aswell.

Imagine having him at LE against the 9ers in that NFCCG there's know way Frank Gore Marches through that left edge with Mario there.

I voted Trevathan.  Mack probably wouldn't be here for 5 more years, and Mario deifnitely wouldn't be.

Its really only 3-4 players on that list I would consider to be top tier. But for what I think we need the most I would choose Danny Travathan.

I'd go with either Travathian or Osemele,

 

but having been fans of this team as long as you and I have been FFS70, we both know it's the same old Falcons, and it just won't matter who they sign, we are not going to get any "rest" as you call it

Alex Mack. 

Center was a disaster last season. Defense was okay. The offense needs to be able to score more than 20 points.

Out of that group I voted Vernon. I don't think we will get him personally; but we haven't had a true difference making pass rusher since Abe left. Just watch the Super Bowl again if you don't think one stud pass rusher can make a difference..

I think he could be highly productive for at least 2, long enough for Beasley to step right in and take his place. Pass rushing is the area that will drastically impact the results of the team more than anything else. It instantly makes our underrated corners better and takes pressure off the offense.

I agree. These are the top ten free agents we hear about on TATF most, taken from NFL.com's Top 99 FAs list. If I was the GM I'd sign three of them (Vernon, Trevathan and Harrison). Only one of them is an A list free agent IMO. Front seven would be much better. For years.

I dont see a free agent as one I want to produce five years from now. I want one who can make us better now.. This is a win now league and most of these guys are being cut after three years due to cap savings anyway.

i want Mario Williams, because I think he will be a force the next three years, help Beasley progress and make our team so much better. I just dont think Trevathan would do that. 

I want this team to have a pass rush and I have never really seen that. Even in the good years Abraham was our only real threat. Lets do this.

Osemele. Mack has not been that good last 2 years. Trevathan is good but Zach Brown might be able to do the same. You are not gonna get a G/T as good as Osemele.

Osemele. Trevathan would be a great addition but he seems like a product of great talent surrounding him. He'll more than likely be in high demand come March 9th and ultimately become overpriced. Such a thing happens every offseason.

I voted for Travathan, but I would be thrilled with Damon "snacks" Harrison.  350lbs and can move.  I love me some Andrew Billings who I believe will be a better player however.  Not as large but easily as powerful & more fluid.
