Guy from the Dallas Cowboys radio show says he has been hearing at valley ranch that Dallas will go after and get Adrian Clayborn. Said its one of their main targets

Rumor: Cowboys eyeing free agent DE Adrian Clayborn

A Dallas Cowboys insider believes the team is interested in signing free agent defensive end Adrian Clayborn.

Despite being in better financial shape than they have been in recent memory, the Dallas Cowboys are not expected to be big players when the free agency market opens later this month.

Instead, many seem to believe the Cowboys will be bargain hunters, looking to a take a moderate risk on players that are a bit under the radar.

In that vein, one former NFL scout and current analyst for DallasCowboys.com, Bryan Broaddus, believes the Cowboys are interested in signing a former 2011 first round selection out of Iowa.

looks to me like we will see if we can upgrade before we make a solid offer for what we had, which is fine, if we actually get better players

I'll believe it when I see it.

Clayborn wasn't that bad and the Falcons need all the help they can get.

I really hope the Falcons try and get some players for the pass rush instead of thinking they'll be fine drafting a guy in the 2nd or 3rd round.

You listen to the break?

good for you bro or was it the draft show?

Occasionally. My friend is a big cowboys fan and he was telling me about this. I believe it was on the break. My friend listens to it religiously and we talk basically everyday about the draft and what we are both hearing. It was Bryan Bradaus who said it

He is better than Kroy Beirmann but knowing the Falcons the golden boy will be a higher priority to sign. We seem to hemorrhage quality rotational guys and keep guys on the team like Reed who under produce.

That MFer Biermann shoulda  been cut 2 seasons ago.

I remember some poster saying he heard a rumor that the reason TD wasn't canned was because he's Auuuuuttha Blank ' s best friend. I'm beginning to believe that was closer to the truth than I had previously believed.

We are making some really stupid decisions not keeping guys that helped out last year. Paul S was our run stopper and Clayborn was at least decently effective. Not liking how the off season is shaking out so far

Yeah, I just don't get it. Justin Durant was injured allot but I noticed him on the field he gets cut, Brook Reed was invisible, and makes more money and still is on the roster. Nobody wants to accept it but this team is in rebuild mode. Even if we find a few qualities players in free agency we have zero depth.

Yep. I listen to all three shows. On podcast.

The draft show is really good too

I wish we had some shows like this. The crap on our website is unacceptable after seeing what Dallas does. Plus Braudus is a former scout so it gives him some credibility on the draft

Something is dysfunctional up at flowery branch because despite all the lip service everything is business is usual. I've never heard of a team hiring 5 previous GM's to fix personnel problems.

Such a spoiled fanbase I am a part of.

I like him. He doesn't just agree with what everyone else says. I like him and Dane Brugler

Dan Quinn wants to re-sign Adrian Clayborn, O'Brien Schofield

When Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn spoke to the media on Wednesday at the NFL Combine, he expressed his interest in re-singing defensive end Adrian Clayborn and outside linebacker O’Brien Schofield.

"I do," Quinn responded when asked if he wants Clayborn and Schofield re-signed (via Vaughn McClure of ESPN. "Here are some of the things that stand out for those two guys: relentless competitors, both of them. They embody the attitude that we like."

Both players signed one-year deals last season and both showed glimpses of what they can do under Quinn’s scheme. Clayborn was second on the team in sacks with three and he also led the Falcons with 15 quarterback hits.

"Now, for me, our continual push in terms of our pass rush, it's not going to be just one guy," Quinn said. "It comes from a group when we're rushing at our best together. So, I kind of think Clayborn, although he has flexibility to go inside ... if he's back with us, I'll feature him probably more outside to in than inside to out. But, we'll see where it goes as we get closer to free agency. But both guys, I just think the world of them."

Schofield started 11 games last season and became a locker room leader. He notched 28 tackles and two sacks.

What it’s going to come down to is money. Clayborn made $3 million last season while Schofield earned $1.7 million. Odds are the Falcons are not going to give them a raise, but both could get more money by signing multi-year deals. That would be good if the Falcons re-signed both players because they need all the help they can get on defense.

The future is looking a little bleak at this point. I have a hard time visualizing this team making strides forward from last year. In years past, I would feel somewhat optimistic about our chances with improvement but I feel the same about this move as I did with Vance Walker leaving. Smh at this FO and organization. We will probably sign all the Nate Stupars and Kroy Biermanns before making notable moves. I have a feeling this team is going to be drafting at the high-end of the draft for the next 3-4 years.
