Thelonious Mingus
Quote FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons use of gender-based questions at the NFL scouting combine may have been more extensive than just the one to Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple, according to a person familiar with the NFL combine interviewing process and questions asked. “A few players told me the Falcons were asking gender questions,” the person said. “After (Michael) Sam and the Jonathan Martin situation, teams want to be careful.” Each time attempts to fill 60 interviews. It’s unlike that Apple was 1 of 60 asked a gender-based question. The league would not address the possibility that they Falcons may have used more gender-based questions at the scouting combine. “We do not have anything to say beyond what we said yesterday,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Saturday. The Falcons also would not comment about the matter. Most of the key team officials are out of town and return on Monday. It’s possible the coach or coaches involved in the un-sanctioned questioning could face team discipline while the league has stated that it’s “looking into” the matter. A league violation could lead to a fine, suspension or possibly a loss of a draft choice. The Falcons were fined $350,000 and loss the fifth-round pick in the upcoming draft for pumping fake noise into the Georgia Dome. Also, president Rich McKay served a suspension related to the noise gate controversy and a marketing official was terminated. http://www.myajc.com/news/sports/football/falcons-gender-based-questions-may-have-been-wides/nqdxQ/ Edited March 5, 2016 by Thelonious Mingus
WOR
Lmao. They're gonna ding us another draft pick in 2017
Tribal Chief
Nothing wrong with taking precaution before making a decision that will affect the team down the road if any info leaks and it becomes a media circus everyday. That's what happens when one guy openly admits it and rumors fly about others being afraid to come out

FentayeJones
Asking Eli Apple does he like men may have been a dumb question but trying to call it discrimination is a huge stretch. This is a terrible article by the way.
HEIST
Well obviously. Question though. Would it look worse if Apple was the only player we asked?

Jesus
Everyone is looking at this wrong. The team actually wants gay players. He failed on that answer.
egoprime II
The Cleveland Browns are looking like a model franchise, compared to the Falcons. I wonder who our FO is going to try to make a scapegoat on this one... I think some of our long term execs are going to find the league office a bit more decisive and less forgiving than our 73 year old owner. gazoo
I think all NFL coaches should be fired and prosecuted the the fullest extent of the law for this clearly sanctioned homophobic, bigoted and probably racists hatred. (I'm sure somehow there is a racist, homophobic, bigoted white make involved somewhere along the lines) I would hope Loretta Lynch can bring the harshest of punishment down by the Justice Department who should start an immediate investigation into the NFL and all teams should lose draft picks. purple// The PC mob is whipping thus up Int as much of a frenzy as they can and the media wil, be all too willing to help stoke the flames of division. Most likely trying to pressure the Falcons into firing the coach for asking a stupid question. This is textbook PC mob tactics, not happy until someone loses their career over a stupid question. g-dawg
I just think Thomas Dimitroff is not a strong leader. Quinn is still growing and learning how to be a head coach. Blank is trying to back off. No one is in charge.
Ben Day Hoe
As a Falcon fan I would say fry em if this were the Panthers. Since it's my team I'm gonna say this is here say and he has no proof of what was said unless it was recorded. "we were trying to provoke a reaction" would my defense. "we wanted to see if he could handle NFL trash talk". I would deny we were ever trying to determine sexual orientation.
stizz
Let's be real these questions absolutely pertain to the NFL. It was worded terribly, but the two players cited in the article are great examples of players who had soft skin and couldn't handle adversity. While I was getting tired of your anti TD schtick, if that DOL article about us not being big spenders this FA when there are a plethora of pass rushers available, it is definitely time for him to go. No more $5 DVD bin diving. We got all the money we can handle, go out and get that Blu Ray.
BritFalcon
Well this isn't much of surprise. The fact that our coaches received sensitivity training and were warned by the NFL (along with every other team), just makes this worse. The coach at the centre of this debacle has no excuse. Perhaps lose his citizenship. I think prison time would be applicable in this instance for Goodell. He's the one in charge, not Blank or TD. Still beyond me how that **** has it in for Brady, yet Manning rubbed his junk on a trainer he was upset didn't want him and has used steroids and you hear virtually 0 mention about it compared to Brady not turning over his cellphone. Disgusting.

I am more conservative than you but your rant is silly. Falcons are just poorly managed right now and making stupid, unforced errors. Pumping crowd noise, asking "gay" questions, confusing organizational structure, giving a rookie head coach too much power, etc. Each thing isolated seems to be no big deal but when you start layering them? maybe not. RYNE
I wouldn't be surprised in this ultra anti-discrimination world we live in now if we don't lose our first round pick. NFL is going to want to send a big message that this is a big no no. What a bunch of idiots we must have working for us
