Hope Falcons understand  the cost of doing business  for Trevathan starts at 4yrs and $32mm and will go up from there.  Don't  get your fanbase all excited  if you are not serious.

Hope we get Trevathan!

Sanu?  meh...

You mean like Mario Williams when he was unrestricted a few years back and we had ZERO pass rush?? Fast forward 3 years or so and we still  have ZERO pass rush. We are not going to lure anyone here because we are the "Atlanta Falcons" so it's going to be a $$ decision...we will be outbid and  left holding the bag.

Irvin is the only possible player that might  "choose" the Falcons if all things were equal but we have a version of him already on the roster in Measley.

Face the facts that a player looking to win a ring is not coming here. I say that for the 30+ year old free agents because they are looking at a final contract and a chance for a title..not a team that's rebuilding or reloading or whatever mantra is being used this year.

I try not to be this pessimistic  until at least the Falcons bye week.  But I hear ya....

This is the best time of the year to be a Falcons fan, because we can dream.

Please let us dream right now I'm begging ya.

in regard to Mario....the Falcons admitted they hurt Clayborn's performance by moving him inside, that he was much more dominant from the outside.

Maybe they feel they can get the same production from Clay at $5-7M per seasons as they can from Mario at 8-12M per season?

That said, I would much rather have Mario Williams.

Cut: Roddy, Hester, TJax, and Babs

Sign: Mario, Travathan, Sanu, Wisneiwski, and Jeff Allen

Draft: Lee (OLB), Killebrew (SS), Tapper (DE), Hargrave (DT)

Dreamy enough??

Where are the rumors of Center and Guard we are targeting?

No specific names yet that I'm aware of, just a general statement as follows:

"4. INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE: The Falcons will be looking to add a center and/or guards in free agency. They plan to improve the interior of the offensive line. “We have some interior things that we are going to continue to look at,” Dimitroff said."

Exactly. Clayborn might have a good year or two in his future but I think his ceiling is Mario's floor...

Interesting to see what Danny does with lesspasd rush and run stopping. I like Sanu, but not to replace anyone at this time.

But but but we could do some nifty trick plays involving flea flicker passes from Sanu to Ryan

Why it doesn't make sense

You've got to aim higher than this. Sanu is essentially a healthier, steadier, and slower version of Leonard Hankerson, as they're virtually the same size and have both produced fairly underwhelming careers to this point. Sanu was the Bengals' fifth-leading receiver behind A.J. Green, Marvin Jones, Tyler Eifert and Giovani Bernard in 2015, did not come down with a single touchdown, and is not exactly a big play receiver.

Sanu would be a perfectly legitimate third receiver if the Falcons upgraded at tight end and had a true #2 receiver already, but even though he's relatively young at 26, I can't see Sanu taking the kind of major leap forward that would justify the nice little contract he's likely to get.
