It is a MUST we get a LB'er in FA and draft Ragland

With Lee doing what he did, he definitely won't be there. There are 3 teams in front of us that need LB'ers. Giants, Bears, and Saints. One of them will take Lee. So in the 2nd one of the other 2 will grab Jones. I'm not even counting Cravens. He is wishy washy and really not all that to me. DQ loves speed but the only 2 speed guys(Lee and Jones) won't make it to us.

Therefore we need to get Trevathan or Zach Brown in FA to play WLB and draft Ragland to play MLB. It would still be an upgrade.

I get why people like Ragland but, hasn't our issue been that our MLB has issues in coverage.....? and in-spite of all the people saying he can cover those who've actually dug into his vids find that he has issues with coverage as well.

I can see he might be an upgrade but, I'm dang tired of seeing dumps go 20 yards or more due to bad coverage.

Does anybody else think that IF Atlanta drafted Ragland then it's possible that Ragland would actually play SLB rather than MLB?
I say this because Ragland is an absolute thumper in the run game, I think that we can all pretty much agree on that, but Ragland's weakest point IMO is dropping back into coverage. Ragland IMO can set the edge like a SLB should but he may not be as fluid in coverage ability like the MLB in this system should be.
From what I've seen, Alabama had Ragland lined up at DE on passing downs from time to time. Does Ragland offer the right ingredients (in terms of talent) for Quinn and co to help develop Ragland into a better pass rusher at the NFL level?

Just and idea that I had and haven't really seen discussed.
Thoughts?

Ok.  And that's my point.

Saints need a Rush OLB, Lee isn't that.

I think Ragland would fit well in the Bears 3-4 as an ILB.

The Giants want to have a dominant D-line again, but they could go LB. The Dolphins need LBs also.

I think one of those teams will get Jack (no way he makes it to the Saints).

ODB Bro its not a Ragland thing for me its being able to cover on 3rd down being quick helps but I think having a high F/ball IQ matched with speed is the fit in the NFL these days no longer can you get away being a high draft pick at that spot and not be able to play on the $$$$ down.

This is the decision they must make when having a look at a bigger guy like Ragland.Tell you a worrying sign for me about Ragland that there were times on 3rd down when they would pull him at Bama but keep the rookie Foster on the field instead for me that's not a good sign for Ragland getting picked early.

MLBs are like running backs, they wear out quick.  Ragland has decent speed but thats about it.  If he slows down or wears out, we are looking at Curtis Lofton all over again.  He lasted four years here.  I definitely want more out of my first round pick.

I don't know, there have been quite a few MLBs that have played well into their 30s.
