Not willing to Sacrafice toughness and instincts for speed alone . Prospects like Lee and Jones both are blazers but neither are good tacklers . We need to improve our coverage of tight ends no doubt but if you lose in run defense then you really haven't gained anything. On tape Lee shy's away from contact and Jones got ran slap over be Alabama's quarterback. Speed is what we need but you've got evaluate the player as a whole in my opinion.

Every single time DQ talks about linebackers he talks about speed. Ragland is not a scheme fit at all guys. Move on. For me it's Deion Jones. Is he the best tackler? No but he flies around and has good instincts. He's not just a workout warrior either. Go on YouTube and watch a few of his games. He's a stud. Ragland is a stud too but he's not what the Falcons want

Exactly lol Lee whiffs just as much as William more. Let's not turn into al Davis

This ties into what I was thinking.  Speed is important but it's not everything.  It's like some of you looked for the lowest time and said that's our guy?   Kidding me??

So Deion Jones gets run over by the Qb ONE TIME so he is undraftable in your eyes?  Similar  criticism  for Lee?  You are being a little over the top - these guys are playmakers.

Where does Lee shy away from contact?

I'd rather have a freak athlete who is coachable as compared to a less athletic "finished product" or effort guys. We have a few of the latter already in the team.

Ridiculous  stmt.  Darron  Lee has been a 1st rounder all along and Jones was late 2nd/early 3rd.

I like the full body of work as opposed to a workout wonder. It's Ragland for me all day long!

Huh? Lee was a first rounder well before he put on the tight shorts. Just because a guy works out well, doesnt make him a 'workout wonder'. Lee has been a playmaker for some time now, and a few have even said he was the best defender on the buckeyes.

you can have Lofton (Ragland), I will take Shazier (Lee). :)

I wouldn't get too terribly hung up on 40 times either way. Paul Worrilow was clocked at a 4.52 at his pro day I'd I'm not mistaken.

Sometimes that straight line speed doesn't equate to game speed.

Pro day 40times are highly suspect anyway.  Hand held times never match the officials at NFL Combine for a season.

Yeah, Lee can't cover pass catchers

Quote

Against the Pass…Lee saw 84 passes targeted into his area, as opponents completed sixteen of those tries (19.05%) for 82 yards, an average of 5.86 yards per completion and 0.98 yards per attempt…Among the 84 targeted tosses, he rerouted/jammed his coverage assignment away from 28 passes (33.33%), as he also forced two fumbles, and caused another two receivers to drop passes…Recorded 25 third-down stops and another three on fourth-down attempts, as he also took down one receiver at the line of scrimmage for no gain and one three for losses…Among his sixteen quarterback pressures, one led to a fumble and three others caused interceptions, with the Buckeyes converting three of those turnovers into touchdown drives…Lee assisted other OSU defenders after their opponents caught seven passes that totaled 38 yards, in addition to registering three touchdown-saving tackles.
