FentayeJones
Quote Ian RapoportVerified account@RapSheet Difficult day for #NotreDame LB Jaylon Smith, who had his medicals. Ankle & knee nerve issues, teams believe he's out for 2016 -- at least

Ezekiel 25:17
Doesn't alter things that much.. Was thinking he would fall behind the Falcons 1st pick due to injury anyways so the same players should be in play most were looking to draft. Dirtybird56
Nerve problems change the game. Feel awful for the kid
Jesus
Not worth taking at all. Gonna have a Marcus Lattimore type career.
apl2g
I think he will get drafted though. Just not in the 1st round anymore
KRUNKuno
Very tough, but as was stated yesterday, the injury was Marcus Lattimore-esque. Lattimore never recovered to be the same afterwards. Regardless and even before this news, we have far greater needs than drafting a injured player and hoping he comes along.
AtlantaFanatic
That's heartbreaking! Hard to feel sorry for pro athletes but tearing up your knee the game before you go pro is just terrible.

D.B.N.
Any chance he's on the board at our 2nd pick we take him???

Just not in the 1st round anymore I think he will still get drafted also. There are a few teams with multiple compensatory picks that can afford to take a chance on him in the hopes that he will recover..
Falconsfan567
He'll probably fall all the way to the 3rd round now. I say that because teams see what happened with Marcus Lattimore never playing again and they're not going to gamble a top pick on him. Once the 3rd round gets here then you can take that kind of gamble.
Romfal
someone will take a shot at him in the 2nd like Da'Quan Bowers, definitely worth a gamble in the 3rd right now and higher if we fix enough things in FA
Gibson's Finest
With the Falcons having less picks this draft, I doubt he'll even be in discussion for the Falcons

HEIST
That's sad. He was legitimately one of the best linebackers to come out in a long time. Hope he gets back at it.
Sponge
Besides football, I hope the injury doesn't become a lingering pain for the rest of his life.

Godzilla1985
Topic for another day but this is why these "college bowls" are utter horseshit. How much money did the Fiesta Bowl cost this Kid????
Sandy5prings
As a Buckeye fan, I feel terrible for this kid because he was injured on a nothing play in a meaningless Bowl game. At least he had some insurance, so he has some coverage in case this is a career killer injury. On a separate note, I'm sure this injury was a big factor in many of the underclassmen for Ohio State declaring for the draft right after the bowl game. They all saw this kid go from a Top 10 draft pick to an unknown commodity. I hope Jaylon can make a full recovery in 2017
Sponge
This news just made Ragland and Lee's draft stock rise. And possibly taking Su'a Cravens out of our reach @50.
SavvyFalcon89
Sucks for the gut...guy is easily a first round talent off of potential alone....With that being said, wouldn't mind picking him up in the second or third round.....if he makes it the far
