Benjamin is good but can we really afford 10 million for a #2. If the browns let him walk it's obvious he wants big money.

Probably. But there is the possibility he just wants the F out of Cleveland and might be open to accepting a little less to play for a winner. I think he'll be outside of the price range I think we should be looking at, as well...but if they do the dirty deed and cut Roddy it's manageable. Julio on one side. Bejamin on the other. Hardy and Tamme in the middle. Plus Freeman out of the backfield. Benjamin is young. Projecting up. I could see us being a dangerous offense with him and a couple of new linemen (through the draft and free agency)

He won't get 10... will he? Could definately see him do some nice things as our number two. We've been missing a fast guy since Hester went down. But 10 M will be too much - I think he's more in the 5- maximum 6 range, but his agent probably don't care about my opinion

I would be surprised if Cleveland didn't offer him 6 or 7 million to stay, I'm pretty sure he is looking for a payday. The bonus would be he returns kicks but I don't see him providing the same impact as Roddy in his prime.

Nothing is FREE in FREE AGENCY!

I keep telling yall that the market for receivers was set when Michael Crabtree got 8 mil a year to play 2nd fiddle to Amari Cooper.

But let's cut Roddy who makes 6 mil...

This young man's REC:TD ratio last season (his breakout season) 68:5....and off the top of my head....Roddy is something like 83:6; 88:7; 115:10....lol...

He doesn't have to.We're not looking for a replacement #ers wise we are looking at a guy who can stretch the underneath and help with the vertical game so underneath guys can get favourable match-ups.

This would be so stupid. Benjamins best asset is his deep speed.  Most of his production came with Johnny Manziel on deep balls. Ryan isnt a good deep ball thrower. A possession WR like Garcon would make so much more sense.

They might envision him as a Hester replacement, on both ST and O.

The money he'll command wouldn't make sense imo. I would way rather spend it on defense or oline. He's getting at least 6m/y.

6 mil is probably a pretty good estimate.  Best comparison I can think of contract-wise is Golden Tate at 6 mil per.  Tate had a better resume, but contracts are going to rise this year.

Not sure how I feel about this, but if it allows them to release Hester and save 3 mil this year, maybe it makes sense.

Love it. I don't see where Roddy has to move. This is the Injury prone NFL. JJ, Benjamin, Roddy and Hardy gives us a great group and improves our chances for the playoffs, reduces the need to draft a WR in the 1st, 4 rounds plus we will have Williams and UDFA's. That is not mediocrity. I like it!
