Sui_Generis
If they cut him, then they will be stuck with Jackson for another year. I would rather cut Jackson and restructure Soliai.
Spts1
I thought he was ok against the run last year. I rather keep him and find a a defensive end to compliment Beasley on the other side.

caver50
If he gets cut, then you know what position has to be filled . It's what I've been saying all along.
The O.D.B
Tyson Jackson or Vernon Butler.

atljbo
This draft is FULL of DT's.... I like Vernon Butler alot ... My ppls call me crazy for saying i see a Marcell Dareus type prospect if he max out ..... I really like him alot ... The guy moves very good for a big guy
trubirdfan4life
The 2+ mil in cap relief isnt enough this season IMO. keep both jackson and soliai for this season and cut bait next offseason when we actually get enough cap relief to replace them. We cant continue to pile up all of this dead cap space

The reason I ask is because if Soliai doesn't take this pay cut really it only leaves Mbu as that guy against the run. All the rest are pretty much 1 gap shooters. I'm actually interested in what this Hargrave kid from SC State and will probably be available in the 3rd round plays both the nose and 3 tech. The thing we cant get to caught up on is to be honest ... Soliai played only about 34% of the snaps... You cant spend a high pick or alot of money (the reason why we are asking Soliai to take a paycut) on a guy thats going to play close to 1/3rd of the snaps. But i do think he can play NT in our scheme

etherdome
Mbu is a classic NT, much in the same way that Soliai is. I don't think that Quinn will be looking for a similar player. There are several good DT prospects in this draft. I like A. Robinson in the first, and Butler in the second. I am pretty sure that there will be good choices well into the third round. I can't see them getting rid of the better of the two and keeping him around. Im willing to bet they already have their eye on some guys they believe can fill the position.
