Gregory suspended first 4 games

NFL suspended Cowboys DE Randy Gregory four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Gregory was a consensus top-ten talent leading up to last year's draft but his stock plummeted after testing positive for marijuana at the Scouting Combine. Apparently, not much has changed. Gregory spent most of his rookie year backing up Greg Hardy at right end.

Wow, by the time he serves that suspension, he'll have lost 10 game checks to fines, and only collected 10 game checks.  Hope it was worth the 300k.

That's quite the accelerated pace. At that rate, he'll net a year long suspension by 2017.

Yeah, next one is 10 games.  Jeez.

This is the guy that some of you in here swore up and down, defended him to the end why we should take him over Beastly....SMH!

He was also the same dude that someone was arguing was having a better season than Beasley even though at that point he hadn't recorded a sack and only a handful of tackles while Beasley had already but up 3 sacks a couple of forced fumbles and an INT.

Just goes to show that you cannot just ignore character concerns in favour of talent and skill. We all knew the risks that came with Gregory and still a few on here wanted us to draft him in the second round because he had top 10 talent. While I hope Gregory sorts himself out, this suspension was pretty much inevitable. I'm thankful that we, unlike Dallas, had the good sense to pass on him.

Addiction and mental illness are injury histories just like physical ones.

Sad that people complain for signing or drafting a guy with a physical injury history and claiming it was predictable when they get hurt again, but swear people with mental illness and addiction histories are  somehow different and overcome that past.

Illness and addiction are injury history problems just like bad knees.  Past history of either does not guarantee future failure, but it makes it more likely than those with no such history.

That's hilarious. I really believe that pot users are some of the most unfairly persecuted people in the world (I am totally serious). But the rules are not going to change and to draft these guys is so risky...Arizona is soooo lucky Matheiu hasn't had this happen yet

He just can't stay healthy for a whole season or when they need him most.
