THEHEADCOACH
Just watched this, really reminds me just how good Freeman was this year. The vision, the cuts, hands, and great at finishing runs.
Wardog357
He really took a huge step forward this year. But even last year I was pointing Devonta out to friends saying....just wait and see...this kid is special.

Adam25
The kid is truly great, his mentality about the game too is what gets me. Glad he's our RB.
Colin_Pernett
He's a great player and an even greater guy. We've all seen him comfort Tevin after the fumbles and let person spike the ball after a touchdown which shows love for his teammates. Also at Friday night lights the people told him to stop signing autographs and took his marker and he came up to my area and asked if we had one so I gave him mine and he signed a bunch of autographs for fans after all the rest of the team was already gone. I even know a girl he was talking too that said she didn't even know he was an NFL player until her parents met him and told her. He had just told her he just moved here from Florida which honestly is really cool in my book. I've been told how other big time college and pro athletes try to act like they are a huge deal to get women and Devonta not even mentioning it means he's really down to earth. Him and Vic are definitely my two favorite players

He really did take a big leap. Im glad to know that im not the only one that saw how good he could be last year. You could see it in flashes last year in limited time. Which honestly, i watch most of his games with the Noles and knew he had it in him. Edited February 17, 2016 by THEHEADCOACH

AndySG
You can see how much he wants to be on the field. That video where he was telling Shanahan that he wants to be on the field for power runs too got me.
direwolf
Great interview with him on 92.9 yesterday. Such a good kid - big fan. I've got a rule about buying jerseys of active players - I don't (wear my Jessie Tuggle jersey with pride every Sunday during the season). I'm going to break that rule for Freeman, though. Seems like the kind of guy I'd want my son to emulate.
Jesus
No one ever talks about the other option he brings to the offense - 73 catches. The most since Andrews set the (now broken) record for RB catches in the early 80's. Freeman is the best receiving back we've had in over 30 years. That's awesome. I can foresee a bigger part for him in the passing game going into this year.
Warningx13
Freeman came out absolutely on fire to start the season. He attacked holes and dealt out punishment to would be tacklers and during that time frame looked like the best RB in the NFL. Afterwards not so much. Clearly his frame isn't built to play that way for 16 games. However, if he was the lightning to someone else's thunder he could play that way when necessary all season. I would much rather have the player from the start of the season for big games, situations and the playoffs then the second act for 16. Leggggggo
I just love the way he covers that ball whenever a defender is within arms reach! He's gonna have some fumbles, but they are going to have to hit the **** out of him to get it!

We got away from a balanced attack for a while, which limited his opportunities. We also started having much more trouble on the offensive line, which impacted his ability to make things happen. I think he could probably carry the load if we were solid up front and committed to it. It's not like he was injured a lot - had the concussion, but that was about it. And, really, if they can figure out how to get Coleman to stop fumbling the freaking ball so much, we'd be in perfect position for a nice one-two. Ward even showed some good promise as the third back. Honestly, running back is about the only position where I actually feel quite comfortable about our players. ShanghaiDirtyBird
The little guy has proved its how bad you want it. Nobody wants it more than that guy. He talks about wanting to be an MVP. Some people probably scoffed at that before last season, but one after his first pro-Bowl season who knows...he led the league in touchdowns pretty late in the year. He's a baller. And an incredibly good person. From a really rough neighborhood in Miami. Couldn't happen to a better person. He's Warrick Dunn 2.

I'll agree the balance wasn't where you want it and the offensive line wasn't either but some of that balance shift very well could have at least in some part been due to the staff thinking there was no way he would survive that many touches every single game. I will also agree that Coleman showed a great deal of promise outside of the fumbles but that was a pretty big issue. If he fixes it he should absorb quite a few carries but that's an if.Ward didnt look bad either but considering just how far Coleman and Freeman fall into your quick shifty back territory I'd prefer our third guy to be a straight up truck. I was just making a comment at the end of the day. There isn't exactly anyone I'm screaming for to fill that role this offseason but I'd like to see Freeman getting PLENTY of touches and to be fresh as a daisy when he does. JayOzOne
The ESPN segment where he talked about repeatedly asking for a job with the mortician so he could earn money and stay off the streets showed that he is a rare bird. He seems to have zero ego at all. I'll be the first to admit that I saw almost nothing in his college tapes that made me think he would succeed as a feature back, but I'm really glad that I was wrong. I love this dude and our tandem. I hope we can find a grinder to go off guard when we need a yard or two, though.

The team fell off, not Freeman. He was still doing everything he could and making plays. He had some nice runs even in the down stretch, but people started keying on him more , we abandoned the run to easy, and our blocking became horrid to put it lightly. Not to mention we couldn't even snap the ball right. Edited February 18, 2016 by THEHEADCOACH

You may be right - no way of knowing what the coaches were thinking. And yeah, I'd kinda like to see a big, bruiser back for short-yardage, though with the scheme, if we're competent up front, we should be able to get some movement more often than not. Love your last sentence - nail on head.
