Archie Manning (father of Eli and Peyton), says

On ESPN, Archie Manning, father of Eli and Peyton, said that "Matt Ryan should play in a Superbowl, soon.....and he will".  He also said he knew Matt's Dad, and he should
experience this with his son.

What do you guys think ---- is he right, or wrong?  Personally, I think we'll get there within the next 2 to 3 years, under Coach Quinn, and with Ryan at QB.....jmo.

A lot of questions to be answered about this subject for mine.

1.Can Matt master Shannahans offence

2.Gotta cut down on red zone mistakes

3.Id like to see Matt come in a little stronger more zip on the ball he did this 2012 and it was noticeable for me intermediate throws they had a lot more zip on them.

i dunno. The FO has yet to prove they can build a team after 8 years under clueless TD.  Blank continues his trend of hiding failure under more layers of GM busts.  Ryan is aging and looking like a career behind crap O-lines has taken a tool.  Shanahans offense still sux in the red zone. We still dont have a pass rush.

Finally, the Falcons seem to be a franchise whose only consistency is an amazing history of underwhelming performance, and always finding a way to lose.  I don"t see why that will change just because a few more years will go by.  I thought that way back in 1980, but 35 years later they are still one of the worst sports franchises in world history,

Archie Manning was just trying to be nice by making a pity comment.  I have no pity for the Falcons.  They make a LOT of money off the fans just to suck.

What's all this 8 years crap.

We've just about been to the SB in that time and had the winningest run in franchise history.

You need to think before you type.

if we fix the defense I think we can definitely make it

That is the problem. The Falcons could have had a Super Bowl appearance with both Vick and Ryan if they'd done a better job of building a defense. You can't get there without a really good defense, and when the falcons did go to the Super Bowl they had a really good defense.

I'm not going to bash the front office again, but they have a bad habit to wait to go after top free agent talent, only to end up over spending on not so great free agents that are left over like Dunta Robinson, Tyson Jackson and others from the past.

I say sign Irvin and go after Wilkerson if he doesn't get the tag.

I think Archie is right, Ryan will play in a Super Bowl.   I don't think it will be with the Atlanta Falcons.  After the season was over, Ryan said the center position had to be fixed.  This was very significant,  because it is the first time Ryan has criticized a teammate, the coaches or our FO.  And here Ryan was, criticizing all three at the same time.  It was a crack in the armor, and since nothing has changed in our coaches and FO, that crack figures to get bigger -if- our center situation does not get a lot of attention this offseason.

You get Ryan a legit defense  and running game like Brady has had most years and he'll get us to a Super Bowl.

Our defense was not legit in 2012, it completely collapsed in the post season.

Abe's getting hurt didn't help. Neither did two pointless penalties that extended second half scoring drives for the Niners after we held them to three and outs. I agree with you because we didn't stop them when we needed to. But those two calls (one legit, the other 100% BS IMO) are the difference between our defense being good enough and us falling just short. If either one of those penalties isn't called, we win comfortably.

But alas, they were and I'm still chapped about them.

It was the offense that blew it in the NFCC game in the second half.
