A Question About The Draft

Recommended Posts

Agreed. I consider all the mock offseason as a game. It's very fun for all of us, but we really don't know anything.

Just st look at last year. Collins was the number one CB at one point. No one would have expected he would be in the second round. Or even Beasley for that matter. I flipped my ish when he was there at 8.

Especially before the combine its nearly impossible to say where anyone will go. Might as well discuss every possibility, because there's really a 50/50 chance of things happening.

A lot of the time it is people who have seen Walter Football's November projections and end up saying that we will get a guy who most agree is now a top 20 pick.

It isn't their fault - they are just looking at "outdated rankings".

You're a lot nicer than I am.

Either way, keep the mocks coming. It makes me more familiar with players I haven't been able to watch.

Coming right up sir!

I think people just like to say it because then, if they aren't available, they were right. People like being right. I'm no exception. :D

To the rare people saying the mock sucks because of something like that, yeah, that's bad, but mostly I see people just trying to assert their opinions. Everyone loves their own opinion just about as much as they love being right

I like having good convo. Opinions are great as long as they are based on something more than bull.

It is still early. The Combine and F A and money will be major factors. A lot of teams get a lot of talent in rounds 3-6 if they have good scouting departments. I hope our new guys and the fact that it is time for TD to knock it out the park will translate to our best draft ever!

I like all the mocks because I get to see what other fans priorities are

I'm no football guru and I learn a lot from the mocks

I have my own thoughts on priorities and I like learns whys and why not from others

Mainly I'm talking about filling positions  --I don't assume to pick the players

With over 40 projected in each and every round, what makes people think you have no chance for a guy projected in the 2nd to make it to us in the 2nd? I'm just curious about that.

Yet...its "A-OK" to make up a trade scenario...which is far less realistic than someone dropping to ya...

Jussayin...

Yeah, I've never understood this. If anything, the draft has shown us year after year after year that guys that are considered highly-valued draft picks sit on the board pick after pick after pick. ****, it happened with Grady last year. He was being touted as a fringe 1st, no later than 2nd, type talent and he was still there on Day 3.

Then, other guys like Marcus Smith, Deonne Buchanon, etc. end up coming off of the board way earlier than expected.

Unless someone is talking about a Top 5-10 type guy being there in the 2nd, the fact is, we don't know. Remember when Sharrif Floyd was a lock Top 3 pick and went like 23rd overall?

Agreed. I would love it if we just took players like that (unless it's due to a massive injury ala Louis Nix).
