lju713
6'5 293 DT/DE who can do it all. He was 1 of the best players on the field yesterday, and i know we won't come cheap but we have to investment in this defense like Denver did. Denver has alot of FA on D and Von Miller is their priority, we need swoop in and take MJ be any means.

lju713
I cut Jackson and play MJ in a Bennett role. 5th DE on run downs, DT on pass downs.
FalconFanSince1969
Not paying big money to a de or dt as strong as this draft class is. He's good, but he's also completely surrounded by elite talent on that defense.

How do you know td had such a luxury?

TheUsualStuff
How do you have any idea that there are all these free agent players who supposedly don't want to play here?We had equal opportunity to sign the same free agent talent that plays around Malik Jackson. Talking out of every side of your mouth lately aren't you?BTW weed is legal in Denver. It's not a coincidence that Denver and Seattle have been big free agency winners lately. Still illegal @ the federal level2. Still a banned substance they test forFor whatever reason the Falcons have most decided to play it cheap in FA. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When they've decided to spend money I would say it sure hasn't worked well recently with Jackson, Reed, etc.Coaches coach and players play, right? Well the coaches need to do a much better job figuring out what players will play for them. Quinn is a huge part of the recruiting process. He also needs to do a better job of recruiting talent and of course TD needs to do better jobs with the contracts.

All I care about is the fact they cut him without having a better alternative. We're also not a dumpster fire... we'r just your average old mediocre franchise. I've never said we're the Browns.I just want you to back up your claim that free agents don't want to come here. My contention is just they will go where the money is offered and we've never beenwilling to really go out there like some other teams do in free agency. THEHEADCOACH
Falcons fans(especially on here) cant complain about the free agents we sign. Every time these guys hit the market, are mentioned on here,or rumors of us looking at them float around, alot of people are on here picking every guy apart and saying why we shouldn't sign them. Then they sign some where and play well. Now its a mistake. People say... "He's old, washed up, they didn't resign him for a reason, or he's been in trouble. Sadly, our mediocre loving front office agrees. Every year we sit with our fingers up our butts while these better FAs are signed. We do not even get into the mix. Then, we go sign our lack luster guys that are hopes and prayers. Not proven. We got to stop the bargin basement shopping. We was a SB contender, thats why tony G came here, and we could attract FAs. We are in the shape we are now from bad drafting, bargin basement shopping, and giving big contracts to players who obviously didnt earn it and who couldn't play. 1989Fan
He would be a GREAT fit here. that said, I expect him to get $7-10M per season, and that just isn't a good investment of funds with our needs. I think we will bring back Clayborn at about $5M per. He got $3m for his 1 year prove it deal, and played well, especially when he played at DE, which coach acknowledged he should have been there all the time (not at DT). 1989Fan
Danny T is the guy we need from Denver. Either that or make an offer to Brandon Marshall and see if DEN matches (RFA). Both are very good, rangy ILB's, and sadly underrated for how good they are.
kiwifalcon
TD would have probably had that luxury if we were willing to pay for some FA talent instead of depending on his ability to draft.Personally I think he has tried over the years but when it comes to pass rush it just gets to prohibitive cost wise I mean Peppers C.Johnson Haynesworth M.Williams all pretty much got serious $$$$$$.I think in the end if you have a QB that eats 20 + millofyour cap the above type of player is out of reach and then you hit the next tier down the No play Ray types who get half that and still the expectations are not really realistic about these guys. It's draft or bust for me when it comes to pass rush with the above variables taken into account.
