andrews31cain21
Going back to Marion Campbell... Never had another NFL Head Coaching jobJerry GlanvilleJune JonesDan ReevesJim Mora Jr.Bobby PetrinoMike SmithOur last 7 head coaches that we fired, with the Exception of JMJ, who only coached 1 year for the Seahawks, never got another head coaching job after we fired them.Just thought that was interesting
AtlantaFanatic
I don't think it's very interesting. I see some super old guys who retired, people who were never NFL caliber head coaches to begin with, and one guy who probably will be a head coach again soon. A Dog Named Brian
Correlations=/=Causality. Some of these guys went either to or back to college or took lesser positions with another team. Some may realise they can't hack it as an NFL head coach or are waiting for the perfect opportunity to try it again. A Pimp Named Slickback™
If any of them are truly good enough coaches, they would get work. I don't know if I'd ponder if the Falcons "killed" any of them
Free Radical
I think most NFL coaches that get fired never are head coaches again. Just the nature of the business.
ROMERO
at least we are not Cleveland where there is a new head coach every two years.

Grrrillapmpn Inc.®
I think the better question is, why do we keep picking sub par coaches...No disrespect to Reeves...
The Great American
Not sure our coaches had great talent to work with for the most part. IMO, Leeman Bennett had the most talented Falcon teams but for some reason Dan Henning came in and did a Chip Kelly imitation and ruined a very good team. Spts1
As far as Mike Smith goes, the Falcons MADE him appear to be head coach material. Some guys are great coordinators but not meant to be head coachs. I feel Smith was one of them. Hashbrown3
I feel really bad for Hue JacksonNot me, I admire a guy who had several teams highly interested in hiring him and he CHOSE Cleveland. He knows the challenges there and didn't shy away from all that negative vibe that came along with that program. From the Ravens bulchit move to all the floundering since. Hue Jackson liked the executives there and understands just how incredible the history is there and truly wants to resurrect their brand of football and restore the spirit & pride of the dog pound! My man crush & respect for Hue Jackson grew stronger. I hope to see a day where teams like Cleveland and Atlanta rise from the ashes!!! FalconFanSince1970
at least we are not Cleveland where there is a new head coach every two years. We had four HCs and two interim HCs in the six year span between 2003-2008.
delaigle
Just a thoughtWe once had a swim coach who wanted only the BEST swimmers --Then he would "show us what a great coach he was."To wit my wife responded "I'm a school teacher, Give me all the A+ students and I'll show what a great teacher I am."Wonder what these "sub-par" coaches could have done with the BEST players?????Your abilities as a teacher or coach are most always limited by the abilities of the students/players you have. Atlfanstckndenver
Riiight. The Atlanta Falcons killed Bobby Petrino. Lol There's no way it had to do with his spineless ***** cowardly demeanor. I just disagree overall.

JDaveG
Yes. Dan Reeves had his young and promising career cut short by his stint with the Falcons.....
newgafatboy
"falcons" had nothing to do with a numb skull running down calling a time out instead of running time off the clock to win the game. Smitty's days were numbered from that day forward....
falconcrest58
Idk about the Falcons being HC killers but coaches in general have been killed by TD due lack of talent. This includes position coaches, HC, DC,OC, scouts, player personnel director, GM because AB fired McKay as GM and replaced him with TD.....not to mention AB hired BP. That's like letting a rattlesnake in your house and not expecting to kill it or remove it. So yeah man AB and TD are coach killers.
direwolf
I suspect that most teams could put together a list similar to this one. Teams like the Steelers who've had four or five coaches in their history are the exception, not the rule.
