THE ICEMAN
He looked like a bust after year 1 most would say injuries slowed him down Just glad to see the much improved play.Hopefully next season he can turn into a perennial pro bowler.http://247sports.com/Bolt/PFF-Jake-Matthews-is-third-most-improved-player-in-NFL-42836125If someone already posted sorry

Halsey.
All the talk about how bad he played was way overblown. He started all games but one as a rookie, had to swap from right to left tackle and had an injury issue. Now he's started 31 games in 2 years and nobody is talking about a need at LT. Good pick by Dimitroff.
Da Bird is Da Word
I'll never understand those people who thought Jake was a bust. He was playing good football before his injury in his rookie season, and considering the severity of the injury he was playing with, he was still better than any other tackle we had. Lol. Jake is our franchise LT.

Macintez
I don't play Madden but I still keep up with the ratings... As good of a season that he's had he's rated a 78. We had solid play from BOTH tackles this season but Matthews play hasn't been acknowledged as much for some reason. People really wanted to label this man a bust. gazoo
Only 2 LTs in the NFL gave up less sacks than he did this year. He was also very good in the running game. He absolutely should have made the Pro Bowl, it's only because we sucked that he didn't.Mathews was an outstanding draft pick, and I think starting next year he'll be a regular in the pro bowl for years. gazoo
how can a player look like a bust after year 1.... ITS YEAR 1It's incredible watching some of the young buck gun slinging armchair GMs that have never, ever had miss on their pre draft big boards toss that term around in respect to rookies. It's foolish. A bust is an outcome, and no way do you know the ultimate outcome during a rookie season.I give all players into their 3rd seasons before concluding they are a bust as so many players like WRs and DL take into their 3rd seasons to break out. Roddy White and Patrick Kerney are two examples of Falcons that the fanbase wanted cut after their season seasons because they concluded they were busts, only to have both break out bigtime in their 3rd seasons.Year after year I have to listen to the kids here rant about how this guys a bust.....currently we've got the idiot chorus calling Beasley and Collins a bust. These people are fools, they do not conclusively know the outcome of either of these players careers.Fyi......saying "I think he could be a bust" is totally different than saying "he IS a bust". DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
See, thats the thing about being a malcontent......you can just abandon the players you've called busts once they start playing well. You just move your griping on to the next spot. Standard Operating Procedure.

gazoo
Because we suck? Cleveland has two perennial probowlers. Heck, Joe Staley made the probowl this year and the niners were trash. It is common knowledge among informed NFL fans that young players can be overlooked for pro bowl consideration if they play on bad teams. If you are unaware of this it wouldn't surprise me at all. This tutorial was on me my friend.

Kaptain Krazy
Matthews has been a very good player for the Falcons. Glad to see him recover from a tough injury. I could care less about Pro Bowl appearances, which are popularity contests and a horrible way to measure value.
g-dawg
You seem blind to your own behavior and highly judgmental on everyone else's.Jesus said regarding hypocrites "how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye?"These are words of wisdom for you Gdawg, you've been called out countless times by others for your flagrant hypocrisy.try something to improve TATF gazoo.please try this.try to go one month w/o starting a thread without generically calling out TATF posters or telling us some rookie or rookie class is the 2nd coming of the Steelers 1974 draft class.do that, and I guarantee you will like my responses to your threads. You can do eeeetttttt!
