Shaggy 2.0
Yea I think Jarrett made him expendable. I'm interested to see what happens between Soliai, Clayborn, Goodman and Biermann
The Don™
Yea I think Jarrett made him expendable. I'm interested to see what happens between Soliai, Clayborn, Goodman and BiermannSoliai - Still effective in run defense. Stays. Leader on D.Biermann - Will be relatively cheap and excelled in run defense. Stays unless he demands too much money. Not gonna be surprised if he walks though.Goodman - Flashes. Toss up. Not gonna hurt to bring him for depth. Was also inactive for the majority of the season so not gonna be surprised if he walks as well.Clayborn - I think he'll be back. Was much more effective when he went back to his natural position.DL wasn't the biggest issue with the defense. Our LBs are HORRIBLE. We literally have no starting caliber, impact linebackers. We'll need to find a long term SS as well.

PeytonMannings Forehead
Don't know what he graded out at but I remember him making several plays in the run game which is what he was originally brought in to do. He did things that didn't show up on the stat sheet.
The Real Tony G. He did things that didn't show up on the stat sheet.I believe you. Not saying I was expecting high sack totals or anything, but he made the fewest plays of any DT on our team. Not a big deal but I just found it hilarious that he was that invisible to me for the entire season Edited January 11, 2016 by The Real Tony G. HOYLE
He and Solo are stout against the run but Jackson has really not flashed much. No Wow! Factor.
krammmit
I remember watching him not make plays. I also remember when he gave up ting to tackle Newton when he went into the endzone. I also remember Jonathon Stewart running right up his lane for 50 yards while the olinemen drove his *** back 10 yards like in The Blind Side
The O.D.B
Not sure what people expected from him. If you read the pre-season break downs of a 4-3 Leo defense the LDE is primarily a guy who can shut down the run to his side but, had enough athleticism to break-up plays behind the line and pass rush once in a blue moon. Considering he's not on the field for pass rush downs he didn't have many splash plays in that regard. However, at certain times this season he has had big plays. It's like Peyton Mannings forehead said he's had plays just not the big flashy ones that get attention. He's done fine this year and I'd have no problem seeing him here next year. I'm just not sure if management is willing to accept his pay check.

krammmit
You remember our run defense being #1 doeDid we even go against a decent running back all year? Murray was ish in his scheme, I don't even know who's the RB for the giants. Dallas went through every RB on their roster and some, the Texans didn't have Foster, who the **** is Matt Jones? Maybe Ingram is decent but he went for 2 scores, the Titans didn't have their starting rb... then we met Martin who I think is **** good and we kept him under 100 so that's good. The niners didn't have their starting rb, we did a good job against the Colts. Then we met Adrian Peterson who went for 158 yards. So yeah we had a great run defense. We also didn't play anyone. And to wrap it all up we played nobody for like 10 weeks and ended up 19th in run D! How does that even happen? I guess it happens the same way you start 5-0 and end up 8-

Thats why i hated he wasnt in the game lastnight. Dallas still had Dunbar when we played them. Whos a good rb. The Minny game was fluke. And i hear Soliai was the leader of the d so when he got hurt everything went down hill

Jesus
He's a massive liability against the pass. One of the main reasons we could not rush the passer on first or second down or whenever he was on the field. He moves like a pregnant woman with lead shoes covered in cement. Quinn's defense does not call for a lot of blitzes. For that reason, the DL must put pressure on the QB. We need a better DT to pair with Jarrett. Hangman is OK, but not much more. Soliai and Jackson are expensive and mediocre. I consider DT our #1 draft priority. The one DT in this draft that can make this defense hum is A'Shawn Robinson. I know that LB is a weakness. The great news is that this draft is very deep in quality LB's. Put quality DT's in front of any athletic LB and you have the formula for a dominating defense.
