Why Is Nobody Talking About Eric Berry?

Unrestricted free agent this year would be perfect Safety next to Allen and would allow us to use Ishmael in the box when using 3 safety looks instead of being used deep in coverage. Their fan base showed him a lot of support when he was out but the only place I think he would probably leave KC for is back home in Atlanta. Eric Berry and Bruce Irvin would be immediate upgrades to our defense. Thoughts please

I am. I had him in my first mock in NFLDraft&FA. Charles Johnson (if/when cut), Bruce Irvin, and Eric Berry would be my dream haul for defensive FA. This would of course be assuming that we cut ties with Moore, and probably Jackson (through post June 1 cut).

Bonus: They're all GA natives.

The key here is if he can even reach FA.

You'd have to pay Berry which isn't a bad thing I really DQ's defense operates at a higher clip with a true centre fielder back there.

If your happy with Gradkowski at C and bring in alessexpensive option or draft another guy along with a mid tiered G I'd pull the trigger it means the 1st 2 picks in the raft are DE MLBer which also are really key for the DQ defense to be at its best.

He's gonna be expensive so that takes money away from d-line which is what any ball hawk needs to be great. Rush the passer so the qb makes bone headed decisions and when he does your top tier secondary players capitalize. I like him but I think acquiring him would be the opposite of what we need to be doing. It all starts up front, that's not just a saying

I really think that our DL is actually pretty good. Beasely needs to keep developing obviously, but the only key thing that it's missing is that above average run defender, who can also get you sacks on the other side from Beasely, the "big end."

Because the lines need fixin' first.

There's no "first" really. We need help at OC, OG, WR, DE, DT, LB (x2 at least), and S. We could use depth at corner unless they feel really confident Collins will improve in the offseason. We could stand to upgrade TE too, at least by adding a quality blocking TE.

So if we get a S in FA, that's 1 less position we need to look for in the draft. If we get a C too, that's another. Frankly, I'd prefer to see us get LB, C and S addressed in FA so we can open up the draft, because I'd rather have to choose between the best DE, DT, WR, LB and OG at any given pick than to have that many more, and if we don't address LB in FA at least, we have failed to draft the most pressing position of need on the entire team behind C, and we only need one C and we need 2 LB. So I'd rather make real sure those two are covered in FA, because we can't afford to go into next season without them.

What anyone says here doesn't really matter unless is a "Group-Think" Response to Mr. Blank...

Quinn could be considering him,,,as SS and FS coverage of TE was a weakness of The Falcons. Ishmael did well of himself some...They may address FS, but that he must be able to tackle.

Still believe that Therezie and Allen will compete with a mid-round pick...

The weird thing about center is that we don't really need a top center, we just need a good blocker who can also consistently call protections and snap the ball, and as much as I know people don't want to hear this, that could still be Person, with a whole offseason to learn the position.

We might bring in highly rated FA center, we might not. We could very well just bring in someone that can be OK, let him compete with Person, and maybe Gradkowski, and then add a good FA OG.

In this system, Berry could probably do both.

Soliai was that run-defender.. When he was hurt, they stunk stomping the run...They have to draft his replacement for the future.. The Falcons need another pass-rusher to help Beasley

Uh.... Could you translate all of that to English??

I feel there are some good points in this Message!

Apparently you didn't read the rest.

We're close. We need a piece or two, and for Beasely to develop.

Naw.... I read it... You said the line was "pretty good" and I was referring to that portion of the comment. I too agree it is an "improved" line and maybe a piece or two will help as the line was "Adequate" at best and had moments. It was not a "Bad" line at all.

But in no way could this years D Line be considered Pretty good. I believe that is WILL be however!

I have to agree with you on this. I kind of think that Quinn will look to bring in a lot of guys to compete for the position of center. Heck, there could be a center playing in the CFL that could do the job well enough.
